So, if I have the details right, there's a 600k gtd. 1k buyin at the seminole hard rock in Tampa on the 25th-27th of this month. i really want to play it because I imagine it'll be super soft and the structure looks ok. Anybody else playing? Any of you who frequent that hotel/casino, when do you expect the seats to run out and registration will close. I'm currently in TN, but thinking about driving down to register now so that I'm in for sure. Is it worth it to stay at the hotel? Are there even any rooms left? Is anybody listening?? Help/advice etc. appreciated.

If I was still in florida I would play this, but also usually the structures at the hard rock were'nt the greatest but I'm sure with a 1k event it will give some play. I was at the one in Tampa once about a year ago and it seemed exactly like the one in Lauderdale lots of clubs etc and super horrible poker players in general. Not sure if that helped at all, but good luck.

I'd heard about this from some of the locals that go there frequntly, but I'll get some info on it and maybe I'll take a run over there and play a satty or 2.The hotel has nice rooms usually no less than $180/night, if you buyin to the tourney there may be a discount. In the couple of times I've gone there overnight I just go to the cheapo place (red roof I think) that's like a mile away and has the fake hooters wing place next door.

kevin and me played up there when we went to the ncaa games. typically all these peasant florida players suck. we stayed at a laquinta in for like 60 a nite w/o tax. i think after it was about 210 w/ 2 people even tho it was rly 3 so not too bad and wireless ftw. if you need any details for the one we stayed at holla at me on aim gametymerz

heh I laughed tooGrinder,I heard rumors of there being biggish cash games there now, like 25/50nl...is this true?
The biggest I've seen have been 5/10 with 100 max buyin. Basically just flipping until the table gets stacked up.

Florida still has a 100 dollar max buy in for ALL no limit games. The 5/10 game is a sicko fest....constant all-ins until people acquire real stacks. (I have seen people work up from 100 to 5000 dollars..... crazy stuff).I prefer the 2/5 NL game as the players are weaker and there is at least a little play. If Florida ever gets real poker I suggest people move here. The level of play is hilarious.

i second that.i just moved to naples, florida from ohio, and ive never had more success with poker cash games in my life. I live about 10 minutes from the naples-ft myers dog track, and literally every night its a donk fest.the 5/10 game at the dog track seems like a good time. people cash HUGE stacks daily.

not a 600k gtd. They advertise it like it would be, but its based on 600 entrants. Went to a 100k tournament on new years....turned out to be a 22k tounament :(but that was at a dog track and not advertised well. Hopefully this will get the 600 players.EDIT: I'll be playing in this.

I live 12 minutes away from the Hard Rock in Tampa. The cash games are soft, as are the tournaments. Sadly, every tourney I've played there has turned into a crapshoot due to blinds doubling every 6 hands. Not sure if they'll make the 600k gauranteed that way or not.EDIT: I see the structure on the first page, doesn't look as bad as I thought. I might try to sat into it.

Not true....they run 2-5 NL with 100 max by in.In Ft. Lauderdale, they do run a big game of 5-10 NL with 100 Min Max buy in.Better than it used to be, but still awful. When the "new laws" 1st passed, there were some big games, especially in Ft. Lauderdale, with Dolphins players etc, but they lasted just a few days until the law was interpreted correctly.
