I think there needs to be a small white truck parked next to the scene of the accident, watching but not participating.

How was the crowd for The Lovely Bones?

That's how I felt when I saw Gangs of New York, followed closely by City of God. DDL is fantastic in Gangs, but the movie didn't do much for me. City Of God though, that's the real thing.     I don

I watched C,S,L a couple of days ago too. I liked it a lot. I thought it was going to be a RomCom and it obviously wasn't, really, although there were certainly a few LOL moments. The characters basically really grew from stereotypes into real people for me, and I enjoyed watching that happen.

The 17yr old giving the pictures to the kid at the end was a bit much, though. But the mom's reaction ("...va-jay-jay!!") was priceless.

Captain America:Stupid question. I'm guessing its CGI, but did that guy get that skinny then bulk up again? Oh and I actually really liked the movie. The ending was weird, but overall really good. Nazis should be villains in every movie. They are great.

The ArtistI really, really liked this movie--it might be my favorite of the year. It's a silent movie, shot in black & white, and in 4x3 (so it's got the same dimensions as an old-timey television). There are lots of reviews out, if you want to read them, and spoil the small parts of the plot that are there. I felt the movie reminded me of a couple of some of my favorite films, notably

Singin' in the Rain and A Star is Born

. But that's just where I think this movie is starting from--some of its references--it is original and charming. In fact, all of the performers are terrific entertainers. It felt a little long in parts (it's an hour and forty minutes), but I'm already wondering when I can see it again.

I bet the actor who played Lieutenant Dan wishes they had done whatever the precursor to CGI would have been instead of cutting off his legs for a stupid is as stupid does movie.

"Contrary to popular belief, a body double was not used for Chris Evans for the scenes when he was skinny. The filmmakers had originally planned to hire a body double and superimpose Evans' face onto the double's body, but ultimately scrapped the idea since director Joe Johnston claimed that Evans moved in a unique way and that no body double could replicate his movements. Ultimately, the filmmakers utilized digital technology to "shrink" Evans down, essentially erasing portions of his physique, until they came up with what the filmmakers called "Skinny Steve". Over 250 shots were filmed like this, and because the shrinking process left empty space in the background, many of the scenes had to filmed in front of a green screen so that they could superimpose the backgrounds back into the scene. Heh...because we needed this to be a striaght up generic action movie, I guess.
Could've used some more explosions and boobs.

I read that it was Evans who nixed the body double because he felt his body was part of his acting and he didn't want to give up any part of his performance. I don't remember exactly how he put it, but it sounded really actor-douchey.

Good news!Michelle Williams will play Marilyn Monroe in the upcoming biopic. Williams has received much praise for her complex roles over the past few years, so this should be a treat, as MM was certainly much, much more than some blonde ditz.Imo, MM turned in one of the best female comdic roles ever in Some Like It Hot. She was no slouch at drama, either.

whos looking forward to the hunger games? (my x got me into them.)
Trailer looks really good. Don't know if they 2nd and 3rd books will be as enticing once the love triangle stuff starts, and Katniss is a pretty huge **** the whole time, but I like Jennifer Lawrence and Woody a bunch.
