Any recommendations? The one I have now is just some POS no-name that I got with a garage sale set, and after playing with Jeff the other day I'm pretty sure it's crap.Odyssey White Hot 2-ball seem to be ridiculously popular, but I don't wanna spend 100+.I read that the Nike Blue Chip is pretty good for the price. Also people still seem to use the Ping Anser. These seem crazy out dated, anyone used them and have an opinion?
Putting is as much about psychology as quality build.Go somewhere with a large selection (a golf store, not a Target or sports authority) where you can putt and grab a few putters that look good to you. Liking what you see when you are setting up over it is half the battle for me. Some are so damn ugly. Some folks like heavy, some like light, but I prefer a heavier putter. I tend to force/push/over control a light putter and that is always a bad thing. Then putt several balls with each one about 5 feet. Pick the one that feels /looks/and putts straightest for you. Spend a good half hour doing this. You will begin to see a difference and one or two will stand out for you.Cameron, Callaway, Ping and Odysse are all quality clubs but name brands should not guide you as much. Feel and roll are key.I have a 2 ball and it just feels right. I also have some Camerons, but I never could putt as well with them. I find the 2 circels help me line the ball up better than a white line on top of the club. Some golf shops have returns too (in a barrel, or some such) and they can have deals.

Ray Cook Blue Goose putter is the best value for the money. Used it for 15 years now and won (ok tied) an LA Kings charity touranment putting contest with it. They run around $60

Thanks Coopernicus I am in... and I can (if interested) bring 2 dead money people with me :club:
The more the merrier imo. Lowers the buy in and/or adds more prizes. I think MC committed to at least 4 dealers/tables if we need them.

IMO you probably suck at putting just like me, so its better to have a crappier putter because you're going to suck anyway, so it gives you a good excuse. When you brick the 2 foot puts with a $200 club...then what?? :)Mark

Putter shopping DONE!Went to Play it again, they actually had a Odyssey 2-ball for 50 bucks, almost went for it, but the rest of the selection of putters was pretty rough, so I went over to Golfsmith and hit balls for a good hour at least. Tried a bunch, in my price range, out of it, and took a look at the used ones. Was hoping to find a decent used one for a good price, but on my first go-round over there I honestly saw maybe 2 putters that were under 100, most were 100 on the dot, lots of Odyssey White Hot, all varieties of it, some pings, quite a few Cameron's, but I just wasn't really in the mood to spend 100, cause I'm pretty sure they go for less on Ebay, at least slightly.Went back to the new clubs and hit this $30 club for awhile, trying to figure out if I really liked it. It was close, but I just wasn't totally sold, so I tried another Odyssey, and I just liked the feeling I got off the ball better on that, same thing with this Taylor Made Rossa, but both were in the $150+ range. Went back to the Used section to dig around a little and low and behold I pull out a different version of TaylorMade Rossa, but this one is back weighted a bit. I look at the price, and holy shit $69.95! No way, I need to try this thing...Go give it a test, and it feels phenomenal! Same feel off the club as both the Odyssey and the other Rossa, but I like the weight in the back, and when I'm actually focusing, I can hit the thing as straight as an arrow. I hit a little while with this, was nearly sold, but it's still $70, but clearly Scott said this matters not. So I take one last ball out, and put it down and aim at the hole on the far side of the putting area, maybe 20-25ft or so.... Give it a shot and sink it. SOLD!Wow that was long. Sorry. But here's the pic....RossaSuzuka_051005.jpgsuzuka_cgb_large.jpg
