Suited_Up 2
Thanks Pots, just cause we're complaining doesn't mean we aren't appreciative of what you're trying to set up. I know its hard to get a group like this organized.I am pretty familiar with the inner workings of restaurants and stuff. Ideally, they should be able to say you're going to have a menu with a steak, fish, and chicken entree on it, and if you want you can upgrade the steak to surf and turf. And we would be able to decide on which of these things we'd want when we arrive, not in advance. That is what I would consider 'standard' for a big group. Plus, make sure they know we're all poker players. IMO the waitstaff should be drooling over us, plus we will order more alcohol than they probably have available. Really that is what they should be taking advanced orders on, drinks... ;)MarkAgreed on all accounts.Definitely appreciate the effort. And I came from the restaurant industry as well, which might be why I'm a little more adamant about it than some others. But hopefully we'll get it all figured out one way or another. Franchise632 0
I echo the appreciation of the effort and will continue to do the wait and see bit. Mostly my buddy doesn't like the idea of having to pay the upfront to hold the reservations because so much can change between now and then. So until final word comes down we are in a holding pattern with the rest.

Loismustdie 0
I remember once a year this group would come into Red Lobster about 10 till close, and there was usually about 60 of them. They were a group from a local high school, and they NEVER called ahead, would expect us to stay hours after close while they did ****ing award ceremonies and shit. "Zach will be leaving us to go wrestle for Fairy college in the fall", etc. Oh, I hated them, because I always closed and I always had plans, and those a holes always ****ed up my day. That being said, they got the full menu. I think the issue is were negotiating a price and trying to get a uniform style dinner going with timing issues, and that takes prep work and a little thought to make it go right. It sounds to me like they are trying to handle this for us, and I liked Marks suggestion that maybe we all just choose the 65 dollar option because it seems that offers a better range. I don't have an issue with that. As far as drinking, I am not to worried about that. I will be drunk pretty much the whole time I am there.
Suited_Up 2
I'd rather go in an hour earlier and wait an hour for the meal if it gives us better options.
Potsie P 0
No worries. We'll make this work, or we'll resort to Plan B--trussdude's stretch Hummer with the stripper pole for a little In-n-Out. And yes, I just realized how many sex references there are in that statement. On another note, we're totally set on the Poker Tourney (see thread--too tired to type anything else). Thanks for all the input. Will check back in on Monday.

chrozzo 19
This man knows how to eat a good steakon my plateim the same med r for me too plzi like it when they alomost still mooing I vote option 1, sounds good to me since I like filet/lobster/porterhouse, and sitting together as a group imo is much more fun. I'd hate to get stuck at a table with the same losers I was golfing with all day and be miserable all night.Markyalmao.I agree that having everyone together is critical and would ensure everyone finishs in time for the poker tourney. In light of this, option 1 seems to be the way to go.YA

Balloon guy 158
Shoot let's hunt a cow and kill it and roast it out in the open desert.Someone bring the beer, someone else some Dr. Peppers and whammy FCP Dinner night. Vegetarians can eat some tumbleweed stew.Whatever you guys want is good by me. And I don't think the need for a quick efficient meal should override our awards ceremony where you guys award me the winner of the long drive contest and Bill the winner of the closest to the pin.Actually one important thing is: Is there cigars allowed in this restaurant? That could be a deal killer...

copernicus 0
Actually one important thing is: Is there cigars allowed in this restaurant? That could be a deal killer...I believe the law is that any establishment that serves food is smoke free unless it has a separate room for smokers.Edit:confirmed What about restaurants and bars? With the passage of the Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act, all indoor areas of restaurants must be smoke-free by December 8, 2006. Smoking is still allowed in outdoor areas of restaurants. Restaurants that are contained within gaming establishments or casinos are also required to ban smoking. Bars that serve food, or have a kitchen and hold a food handling license, will also be required to be smoke-free by December 8, 2006. Bars that serve prepackaged food, like peanuts and pretzels, and don’t hold a food handling license, can still allow smoking on their premises.
nutzbuster 7
Huge thanks again to Pots for all his efforts with the dinner plans, and believe me I know it takes a lot out of ya doing this stuff.I just hope it works out. Worst case scenario we just all go over and meet up at the Mexican place there at Monte Carlo. Sort of a rowdy-ish very casual atmosphere where we could get loud and drink/eat a bit. Just an option for a plan B if all else fails? But lets all cool out jets and see what the final verdict is from the MC folks. I agree that they should bend a bit to accommodate us all with more flexibility as they stand to make a killing from this group.Gonna be a killer time either way!
