tough day today... logged in over 8 hours at the NL table at bicycle casino and dropped $700.ive had worse losing nights (the most i ever lost was $4000 in one night, and the most i ever won in one night was $5000) but everything was just going wrong today...got AAs, KKs, QQs all cracked. flopped a boat only to get beaten by a quad. ive tried not to go on tilt, but everytime i buy in, i get busted by some other guy who makes a bone headed play (the very last hand i got busted out i raised 6x the big blind with AK and this one guy calls me with 10 6 heads up and flops a flush, while i flop two pair. later when i ask him why he played 10 6 with my raise, he says, i was just sick of you bullying me all the time......LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL).. i know 'losing streaks' can last a long time, but damnnnn... ive been having some real bad cards coupled with some bad flops.of course losing the money hurts, but what hurts even more is that im playing these cards to the best of my ability, and im still gettin beaten in the worst way. todays loss has really hurt my confidence in playing poker...i just need a place to vent right now. im still steaming......

also i just want to applaud all the pros who play poker for a living day in and day out. this is one VERY stressful career. i cant imagine shrugging off a 1/2 mil losing night in the big boys game.

thats why poker is so frustrating.i can sit at a limit table and make at worst 1 dubius call over a 4 hour period and still be 50BB down now and again. i know im better than the opponents and thats the highly frustrating part of the game.sometimes i wonder why i keep on playing this game - but then i look back at some records and see how much im up and that keeps me going

arent you the guy who says a bankroll of 4 buyins is sufficient?

showtime,if you are interested in my opinion I would recomend playing online if you are playing NL.I used to play b&m but I play more online because I have a much better table selection. Online I can keep a list of bad players and switch tables easily, keep track pot pot sizes and percentage of people seeing the flop, keep notes of everyone and play 2-3 tables at once.I would consider myself semi pro although I use the term pro loosly. I play online and play to pay bills but I do have other income. I bring that up because when I play its to pay bills and I have to select what is the best way to make money and online is just better imo. You can play the same ammount of hands that takes a B&M grinder a week in a day.Now if you are just a recreational player it wont matter as much, but if you are playing strictly for cash, i would recomend online it gives you a much better edge. Now, if you are playing limit then i dont have much to tell you other than its variance and it happens. I have found much more variance in limit than no limit. but the bottom line is game selection and finding the nl donators that put their whole stack in with top pair weak kicker or worse.

STFU. Anyone who's real life bankroll is sufficient enough so that they can lose 4K in one day playing poker isnt going to get sympathy from (primarily) low limit players such as the ones on this website. Why the F.uck you you bump it up 6X with big slick? No wonder why he called with 10 6, it looked like a f.ucking blind steal. He had right to feel like you were bullying him. Seriously, you're hardly going to get sympathy from anyone on here. We'd all love to be able to lose 4K in one f.ucking day. Try incorporating reads into your game. Just b/c you flop two pair on a 3-flush board doens't mean you're going to f.ucking win. Stop calling down with mediocre flop-relevant holdings.

Don't hate just because someone has more money to play with. Nobody at any limit likes all their premium pairs getting cracked. And being able to come here and bitch about it helps sometimes.

I feel that. Went to AC yesterday and was playing tight aggressive against on some loose limit tables and still lost all my money after just being chipped down for 9 hrs. Although I have to say, I KNOW i played good poker, never went on tilt and didn't chase cards without the pot laying me good odds. The worst is seeing horrendous players being rewarded. There was a black guy sitting next to me at 4-8 who must have never played poker in his life. He called every hand, spiked every river and walked up $300 after about 3 hrs of terrible play. There were two decent, grinder-type players sitting at the same table and I think he was about to make them cry.
