Villain should call the river bet. Button (you) could easily be on a steal here with air after being checked to 3 times.

Meh, finz, or a player that I'd assume she plays like, lol, wouldn't fire this river with worse than second pair. I play the same as BB.

#1 I don't like a button limp with any hand here from hero.#2 If I'm villain I'm leading the flop. As played a river fold seems close, but fine.

Some of the comments about this hand confuse me terribly.BB hits 2nd pair in an unraised pot.This is likely the best hand.But a pair of 8's against two opponents is extremely vulnerable.So he must show aggression early to try to take the pot down.Leading out would be very standard, and is the only play I can see being acceptable.If we are going to only check-call the flop and turn, then we certainly can't fold the river when another blank comes.We were extremely fortunate that our weak, passive play did not make our hand get weaker.We still have 2nd pair.And now we call once more to see if we have been ahead or behind this whole time.Check calling flop & turn, and then check-folding the river is the worst possible play I can imagine with this hand.What am I missing here?Some super strong read that was not included in the post?--CM
