Nimue1995 1
I wasn't about to call the figures false but they certainly were suspicious which is why I asked where they came from. Another case of anonymous internet smear tactics gone wild. BG, I thought you were better than that.

Southern Buddhist 1
5th: Gobears KNOCK IT OFF, if people don't know about snopes then let them stay up adding large numbers and making graphs with tabs that don't copy and paste....oh wait never mind. Sorry SBHeh heh heh. As soon as gobears posted from snopes, I kind of slapped my forehead and said, now why didn't I just do that?
ShakeZuma 585
But more importantly, look at the third column, hostile action. 58 for Reagan, 170 for Bush I, 0 for Clinton (that's ZERO), and 2,596 for Bush (casualties from Iraq just crossed 4,000, so the missing years of 2007 and 2008 to date are big ones). Where on earth did you get 14,000 for Clinton? I saw that figure nowhere in this report.unfortunately that is just plain inaccurate.

Southern Buddhist 1
unfortunately that is just plain inaccurate. Not according to the Congressional Research Service, a non-partisan body tasked with compiling data for Congressional reports and whose work is depended on and trusted by all branches of government. I imagine the figure is zero because there was no _declared_ hostile action. The soldiers who were killed in Somalia are likely considered terrorist deaths (or possibly homicides) and those in Kosovo/Serbia/Bosnia occurred under a UN/NATO mission. Obviously, people died, but the CRS is using the same definition of "hostile action" across all administrations.
