colonel Feathers 5
I asked the same question but he's dodging it. That leads me to believe he did and doesn't want to fess up. He is FCPs resident hobo that has access to the internet. Not dodging, been out collecting more cans. 8.5 pounds.
grocery_mony 8
Believe it or not, I actually found an entire stuffed turkey after thanksgiving, and a dozen stuffed shrimp behind red klobster.I thought that Red Lobster closed down and a abortion clinic moved in.
NonZeroPossibility 0
It's (kind of) been done. I can't remember what tourney, but I remember seeing a special interest segment on a final table player, where the guy collected cans to support his poker bankroll (to keep his wife off his back). Maybe one of the 2004 wsop telecasts?Leif Force was a bum. Mickey Appleseed looks like one. That black guy, something Powers "He called me with Jack HIGH!" he was a bum (and probably is now again). Pretty sure Sam Grizzle has been homeless at one point or another. Jamie Gold is gonna be homeless soon. His story will be Dave Attell-esque.... Next thing you know I'm blowing a guy for a sandwich."EDIT: that was Ellix Powers

finztotheleft 0
And we wonder why our water is contaminated. Thanks a bunch, dillhole.Dillhole ? Thanks a bunch In an ideal world, the meds should be incinerated, but there is not a plan to have pharmacies accept returned medications and have them shipped back ers here in the to the manufacturers for incineration here in the US. Many pharmacies in Canada do accept meds back. It seems that neither the pharmacies or manufacturers in the US want to assume the liability or the cost of incineration. Currently, in the US, medical personel are REQUIRED BY LAW to dispose of narcotic meds by flushing them when the patient is deceased.Kindly put that in your dillhole

Jeepster80125 0
Sadly, many people do toss them. Family members do after the person who needed them passes away. They don't realize that the drugs should be flushedActually, this is the worst possible thing you can do with unused pharmaceuticals. Are you seriously telling people to flush their unused drugs? Please don't do that.http://www.naturalnews.com/001891.htmlhttp://www.alternet.org/environment/43242I'm sure there are better articles, these were the first two google pulled up. We're testing this year for them for the first time. Even though diluted in terms of impact on human biology, their presence may have unknown consequences on biological systems that we rely on. And I'm not an environmental wacko. Go to "allin's" lights out eart day thread (w/e). That's idiotic environmentalism. Water is different. Most of our toilets flow into someone's tap downstream. renaedawn 1
We're on the same page. I was attempting to relate to finz the pure absurdity of advising people to flush their unused meds down the toilet.Absolutely absurd. I'll assume the cost of disposing of them properly. And by properly I mean making sure they are used for what they were intended. Absorption by the human body.PM me for the addy and please include the brand and generic name as well as dosage of what you are sending please.

Don't shoot the messenger !I absolutely agree that there should be a better method, but as you can see from both of those articles.....no one is really offering a solution to the problem. Neither article suggests what could be done. If we can get pharmacies here in the US to take back unused meds and return them to the manufacturer (which I would love to see happen), that still won't do anything about the majority of meds that are in drinking water, because that comes from meds in all of our urine and feces. Scientists have figured out how to filter all traces of urine and feces from our drinking water, but they haven't worked on removing the meds because no one wants to pay for the research for that kind of filtration system.
