vgsgeek 0
I'm a total poker junky. I have Tivo record anything with the word Poker in the title or description (which is great except for catching re-runs of Momma's Family that had to do with a poker game...). So, if there has been poker on TV, I've seen it. Obviously, some are more entertaining than others. But, what has been your favorite televised event? For me, it's a no brainer. It was the $2,000,000 2004 WSOP tournament of champions. The way that Annie Duke messed with Phil HellMouth was superb. She knew exactly what to say, when to say it and with what tone to say each and every thing to get him to go absolutely mental. I loved it!
Rob-L 0
The Five Diamond Classic at Bellagio from the WPT's third season. I got to watch Daniel roll all over the competition and my mug is on TV from time to time for the first 45 minutes of the show. I was sitting about 4-5 seats directly to the right of his mom. For those who haven't seen the turning stone ourny you really need to do yourself a favor and watch it. It was a great final table and you get to see some of the best really do their stuff. Rob-L, that is one of my favorite Homer quotes, nh sir :-)

kook04 0
I have Tivo record anything with the word Poker in the title or description (which is great except for catching re-runs of Momma's Family that had to do with a poker game...).Here's a Tivo tip for you:Instead of creating a "Keyword Wishlist" create a "Category Wishlist". 1) Create a new Category Wishlist.2) Select "Interests" as the category. 3) Select "Poker" as the sub-category.You will now get all Poker shows without Mama's Family and Rosanne episodes that have "poker" in the title or description. I just made this change like two weeks ago and it works great.
elkang 0
Best single series... Poker at the Plaza. Certainly a unique tv production considering the timing (right after WSOP), players (all great pros with a great final), blind structure (where have you seen this many hands actually played??) and Superstars could have grown to something great... eh.. they fucked it up with #2.I had hopes for HeadsUp but it's so much fluff and the limited commentary is pretty stale too (sorry Gabe). But, it's still early.Overall, I will give to ESPN and the WSOP though. They have a lot of problems, but still that series of events are IT. The World Series is to me the crown jewels of poker. I have countless enjoyable memories watching that and ESPN has come to age with their production values. I worked in TV and a lot of poker on TV sucks.
elkang 0
kook04's Tivo tip is right on. I have one for 'Adult' which my wife... er... loves.Keyword gets you things like "fireplace poker" and every sitcom with a poker game in it.

HowMuchIsIt 0
Two Words.....Ellix Powers!!$5,000 limit hold'em at this year's world series. He had me rolling and that pussy McManus couldn't handle the loose cannon so he had to cry like a baby. Ellix is good for poker!
RPGs316 0
1) Turning Stone- This one is the absolute, hands down. Spectacular from start to finish.2) Legends of Poker [the most recent one, with Doyle winning]- I love seeing Doyle do his thing. The man is 71 and still tearin' up the felt. So to see him win the Legends of Poker was only fitting.3) Borgata [most recent]- Negreanu gets WPT win #1. It was great to watch.4) Five Diamond Classic- (Negreanu + chips)^bull dozer that runs off of chips = ratings. I loved it, and he chalked up win #2. And it was sentimentally cool to see his Mom give the reaction she gave when DN went over and hugged her. That followed up with Humberto Brenes coming over to hug Mrs. Negreanu was just a class act. dEv~ 19
I did really enjoy the TOC...not for the poker but for the extras around it. Prolly the number 1 moment in Television history was the Phil Hellmuth watching Phil Hellmuth section. Pure poker wise Turning Stone was the best cause you saw what a real tournament is all about. 711Buddha 0
The legends where Doyle just flat out outplays Lee W.Its clear why he's Doyle.
vgsgeek 0
Two Words.....Ellix Powers!!Ahh man, that one was great, too!! "He called me with Jack high!!" That was fantastic. As for the Tivo suggestion, you can bet I'll be doing that tonight when I get home! Thanks! On a semi-related topic, while watching televised matches, does it bother anybody else when they have the "table audio" turned so low you can't hear what the players are saying? I think that the table talk is one of the most interesting parts of it. It's great to see what people say when they have the nuts and when they have just a set of balls. Meatwad 0
Clip of Homer Simpson calling Moe's set of 9's with all his chips and Maggie with only a busted straight draw.Episode title: Children of a Lesser Clod
