Casino De Montreal

Recommended Posts

Alright so me and a couple buddies are hitting up Montreal, Canada this weekend. Was on the Casino website and was looking at their poker tables and seems like they got like state of the art poker. Like everything is screens on the table no dealer pretty sick stuff. Wondering has anyone ever been there and how was it. Also couldn't find anything but are their cash games there and what are the stakes at the tables for cash and SnGs?Also how are the tables there soft vs. strong?

i went there a couple years ago before quebec law allowed poker, so i can't really be all that helpful beyond saying that:1. drinks are super overpriced in the bar on the 2nd floor. get wasted in town, then gambool.2. the casino in general is extremely well-run in my experience, but since the poker room is new, you're probably going to be dealing with a lot of floorpeople/dealers without a whole lot of experience. be nice to them and bear with them.2a. this also means that players are more likely to be retarded. win lots of money.also, montreal is a super awesome city. don't waste too much time in a casino, please :club:.

hey.. i live in mtl and ive been playin at the casino for a few months now...first off the technology is much better than i thought.. the game moves much faster than with chips/dealers and its easy to get used to... how it works is first u gotta sign up to get a players card.. then u gotta deposit money in it (at the cashiers desk).. then u gotta find a kiosk and place ur name on whichever waiting list u want.. once ur name is "called" (actually its displayed on screens) u go to the assigned table and swipe ur card.. then select how much cash u wanna play with...THE KEY HERE IS THAT THERE IS NO PIN NUMBER FOR UR CARD SO WHATEVER U DO, DONT LOOSE UR CARD!!!as for the games they only have holdem for now... they have practically all limits (in cash games... NL and L) and they have several SNGs as well..for the SNGs they have some for $75, $115, $225, $550, etc... and the format is simple: They all start when 10 players have registered and the payout is 50% to 1st, 30% to 2nd and 20% to 3rd...as for the players, they're all horrible... they call anything so no use in bluffing ur stack away..HAVE A GOOD TIME and GOOD LUCK!

also... theres a very nice bar the divides the poker room.. u can drink at the bar but ur not allowed to drink alcohol at the tables (quebec regulation)...at the tables ur only allowed to drink NON-ALCOHOLIC drinks.. as for the room, it will take a little bit of getting used to since every table is electronic and the room is really dark.. but i havent experienced any problems yet.. i would suggest playing at the DEMO TABLE for a while before actually playing the real tables..and the floor people are extremely knowledgable.. (not what i expected)

How are the prices for the drinks cause i know most casinos give free drinks if you playing games but i figure in montreal its a lil different with all the tourists. Also do they exchange or accept american dollars at the casino or are we just better off goin to the bank b4.

rake is 5% of every pot.... with a MAX RAKE of $5....as for the drinks they are like at any bar... not too expensive, not too cheap... (non-alcoholic drinks are free at the tables though)..as for the cash there is a NATIONAL BANK on the main floor of the casino that has an exchange bureau (with decent rates i presume)...

Poker room is great. Could be better lit, but it's more like a club because of the bar dividing the room than a poker room you would find elsewhere. As for the players, they are awful. Also easy to get tells on what players are going to do by looking at where they are going to press a button on the screen.
