Royal_Tour 0
I'm giving a guess that i think the poker Boom will start to slow down.not saying its going to stop., just simply slow.By that time, every bar, and pub will have hosted an event, and almost every company will have had a poker related giveaway.Right my home town is filling up on its poker boom, and I'd say in 5 months, you'll start to see who avid players are, from those who just jumped on.I'd like to think its going to continue to grow like snoboarding and such., but with age restrictions, and "funds issues" i cant see that happening. Socrates 0
With all of the broke wannabes coming back from the WSOP this year, I would guess it will slow as well. I'd be interested to see how many divorces come out of the WSOP after the husband leaves for Vegas telling his wife that he's better than most etc...and then busts out, gets depressed and then loses all their money in side games over the next few days. Seriously though. I think you will see alot of people making their first trip to Vegas this year with big dreams only to realize that its not like their home game and that not all pros are regularly on tv (i.e. they'll get fleeced in the side games as well)

OrangeKing 0
It's funny how many different sports claim to be "the fastest growing sport." I think I should invent a game, keep it to myself, then teach five people how to play next year. Then I can claim a 500% increase in interest in my sport in just one year! Bam, I'm the fastest growing sport in America.

elkang 0
absolute, most of your 1800+ posts are worthless or worse - they just feud stupid bickering. At least be witty about it. I seriously looked to respond positively to one of your posts over the last few days and could only find one.back to topic...I hope the enhanced TV coverage coming up WSOP and all that will help poker grow. More $$ into this system the better. As someone who has been involed in "fads" before, during and after - I'm confident that the boom will have lasting effects as it just strengthens the core group and the growth in numbers sticks. Keep in mind that though TV (and hole cams) helped, it is the money and the internet that has helped it hit its stride. Also, you have to be specific about what it means when the boom is over or slowed. We are obviously in a boom now, but the gauge should be % growth and the transformation of the poker players into a fully legitimite professionals. This is something that looks to me like it has had very slow growth til 2001.
