FCP Bob 1,321
I've been running really bad this weekend in the live 3/6 game at the local casino. Lost set over set among other things on Friday night, got coolered tonight with AJ on an AJJx board when a Q came on the river to give the resident donkey's QQ a better full house (Thank God he was all in for eight on the river as it would have cost me quite a bit more if he'd had more chips). I don't think I've hit a draw all weekend either. Anyway, it's got me doubting some plays. I posted the following hand in the strat forum, but of course no one goes there anymore, so I thought I might get some analysis here. Thoughts and comments especially appreciated on pre-flop play and the turn.Villain is a decent Taggish player really quite similar to the way I play in live games.Hero is UTG+1 and is dealt A Q Preflop: UTG raises, Hero 3bets, MP calls, CO calls, SB calls, UTG caps, everyone callsFlop (20 small bets): A 9 2 SB checks, UTG bets, Hero calls, MP calls, CO calls, SB callsTurn (12 big bets) Q SB checks, UTG bets, Hero raises , SB calls, 2 folds, UTG 3bets , Hero calls (reluctantly), SB calls.River (21 big bets) T UTG bets, Hero calls, SB callsI'm guessing the UTG showed you AA or QQ.I can't find a fold anywhere unless you have a perfect read on your opponent, the pot is just too big and there is a chance that the UTG has the same hand as you do. TheCinciKid 0
what is this, like a bad beat post or something? Line seem standard to me.Like I said in my post, running bad and doubting myself. Just felt like maybe there's something I could have done differently here.

Just felt like maybe there's something I could have done differently here.Nope. In order for me to fold top two pair ( or really any two pair) on a board like that, I need to just have a perfect read on an opponent. I don't think there's an opponent I am confident enough in my read of online that I would do this to ( there are some live that I would). You are probably against AA QQ or 99, but you're also against AK or another 2 pair enough to warrant your call down.
Mattnxtc 0
So I decided to not drink and all of a sudden I have a 100BB weekend over about 1000 hands...apparently that is a sign...
Whatever 1
Well I decided to retain my goldstar status so I need to put in about 4k hands of 1/2 6 max LHE. Last night was the first time I had played 1/2 LHE in about a month and I managed to get half way there without killing myself or my bankroll. *success*I'm currently reading Elements of Poker and last night's session provided me with plenty of opportunities to exercise tilt control. I guess I had blocked out how brutal this game can be. So crazy. I felt like I played much better than I did last month though. I had plenty of chances to go on monkey tilt but for the most part I played well. I have a plan for my next session and am actually looking forward to it which probably means the deck will chew me up and spit me out. :)F you poker:
DinkDonk 1
I played exactly 51 hands today. I made exactly $2032 today. I will now spend my day playing Halo, maybe getting high, and maybe going to dinner somewhere nice tonight (It's "Restaurant Week" in Buffalo.)Sometimes I really, really love my job. FCP Bob 1,321
I don't know if anybody else will find this interesting but this is the amount of rake per hand that I've experienced playing at the 6-max 10/20 tables at Stars. For 6 Players max rake is $3For 4-5 Players max rake is $2For 2-3 Players max rake is $1One thing that Stars doesn't do well is the heads up rake on non-heads up tables. At the heads up tables the rake is only 50 cents per hand while when you play heads up at a 6-max table the max rake is $1. Any time that I've played heads up it's been when a game has become short and I've decided to keep playing heads up against somebody who I think I have an edge on so even with the heads up rake being large I've done very well although not over many hands.6 Players - 33.8 cents per hand5 Players - 28.4 cents per hand4 Players - 36.3 cents per hand3 Players - 24.3 cents per handHeads Up - 39.4 cents per handI'd be curious to know the amount of rake that you've paid at other limits. Whatever 1
I'd be curious to know the amount of rake that you've paid at other limits. Now that will be depressing.Let me look real quick...1/2 6 max $1 maximum rake .75 up to $21. .50 up to $15. .25 up to $10. Everything under $5 is not raked.
Whatever 1
The max rake at 2/4 6 max is also $3. Yuck. All 6 handed pots $75 or more are raked $3.

All 6 handed pots $75 or more are raked $3.At 2/4, 3/6 and 5/10 the real rake killer is the incremental rake where sites take 25 cent chunks instead of $1 ones.Stars and Tilt take it $1 at a time while AP/UB and all the European sites start raking pots at $10 and they take 25 cents for every $5 in the pot. On a 2/4 pot at On Game where there is $18 in the pot they'll rake 75 cents while Stars takes no rake. Things like that really add up over time. Some of these other sites try and make up for it in incentives but the less money that is taken off the table from the beginning the better for the quality of the games as there is more money to be won. I know that the amount of rake that PT2 uses is the amount I paid on pots I won but in reality that is the number that matters to me.

opie 0
I got really lost in this hand - starting after my 3 bet flop bet doesn't get the respect I was hoping for. I was new to the table, so not many reads, although I did see the SB 3-bet Q9o from the button a few hands previous, and he seemed a bit loose. Still, he capped preflop from the SB. Fold turn? Or raise river? When I get confused, I usually end up in call down mode.Full Tilt Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comPreflop: Hero is Button with K , A UTG raises, 2 folds, Hero 3-bets, SB caps, BB calls, UTG calls, Hero callsFlop: (16 SB) K , A , 4 (4 players)SB bets, 1 fold, UTG raises, Hero 3-bets, SB calls, UTG callsTurn: (12.5 BB) 9 (3 players)SB bets, UTG raises, Hero calls, SB 3-bets, UTG caps, Hero calls, SB callsRiver: (24.5 BB) 2 (3 players)SB checks, UTG bets, Hero calls, SB callsTotal pot: $55 (27.5 BB) | Rake: $

DinkDonk 1
About 2k hands for +$2k. Grindy day for me. I'm playing quite well and getting pretty sick results; It's like a break from the stress of the game for a while, but one in which I think I'm up like $25k in the past 8 days. So a good break.
