Mattnxtc 0
I know that at least Checky is a Diesel man, but how do we, as LHE players, feel about these sneakers?I thought they were soccer shoes at first.
kkot 0
Thought: I get way more out of training videos where two people are talking instead of just one guy.I definitely agree. Five's a Crowd is a great series. And Come Here Often was good, even though it was only half a season.I think Bryce and Doughnutz do a great job by themselves on Stox though. Especially Bryce. Mattnxtc 0
Bryce is probably my favorite overall teacher. From the way he talks I think he just "gets it." That being said, I really like Danza a lot as well with Death Donkey a solid third (mainly because his style is a bit different from how I play). For 6max, the Entity and Danza series where they discuss Entity vs regs is an incredible series.
DinkDonk 1
I agree with a lot of what you guys have said here and love a lot of the series you talked about, but I'm actually not crazy about doughnutz as a teacher. He is an absolutely great player, but I don't think he justifies some of the things he does very well, and I think he may go so far off the map that he plants poor ideas in the minds of players who aren't ready to think through decisions on his level. Triumphant return for me today. Crushing fools.
Dirtydutch 8
I understand what you're saying Dink, and I agree that Ijay doesn't adequately explain a lot of what he's doing, but at my exact stage I feel like this is somewhat helpful, actually. I have to try to think about why he does some odd things.

I have to try to think about why he does some odd things. That makes sense. I do enjoy his videos; I just think they could be better because he truly is an excellent player. I'm probably going to fall asleep within the next hour or two and from the time when I wake up to when I next fall asleep, I'd like to put in a minimum of 3k hands. We'll see how it goes. Dirtydutch 8
I'm not traditionally. I had the same pair of sneakers from fall of '04 'til fall of '08, a little while ago the tongue came out. I ended up buying those and some Chucks for $50 total, at a brick and mortar store. I would pleased.

Once you understand the game at a deeper level though, I think he would be truly beneficial.

Mattnxtc 0
I heard him mention that once. Links?Ill have to search around 2+2 when I get some time (about to head out to a work party), but that was where I remember reading about people questioning how and why he was making the moves he was. Of course a lot of the "cheater" issues came up around the time they were finding the absolute cheaters so I think that fueled it for a bit.

Dirtydutch 8
I guess I'm going to have to break down and pay for dc.Definitely worth it, but I will say this: be careful. They're not as educational as we probably want to believe. They're fun to watch, and I can convince myself I'm studying, so I don't feel bad watching them for a few hours. But at the various wrong states of your development, particularly if you're not thinking about it hard enough or correctly, you're basically just watching a guy play his session. Which isn't bad, but isn't always the best way to allocate your time. Also -- and I would like Dink to weigh in on this because he probably knows more about it than I do -- you might be better off with Stox for a little while. Bryce has some classroom videos that completely shocked me and the foundation upon which I've built my perception of poker.

I'm definitely not above watching them, but I'm really more concerned with knowing what other people I'm playing against who are watching the videos are thinking. I'm not really looking to try to imitate somebody else's style.edited out some stats
Dirtydutch 8
Like me, your 3-bet is kinda low. I'm just starting to learn what the stats mean, though, so I'm really the best person to respond.I wouldn't post those, though. PM them to a few guys. It's one thing to be a douche and withhold some concepts you've been thinking about, but posting stats like that is not something I would consider.(Granted, not a ton of guys know your SN, but still...) GWCGWC 83
Dutch, how does a self described nit justify the cost of all these training vids? Don't answer that.
