StilettoNole 0
My stats: 22.88% /20.34%/ 6.17Villain: 65.38% /11.54% / 0.73Villain is a limping donkey kong. I really think he sucks. Bad.Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)UTG ($27.55)MP ($12.15)CO ($25)Button ($25.90)Hero ($25.10)BB ($67.85)Preflop: Hero is SB with , . 1 fold, MP calls $0.25, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.2, 1 fold, MP raises to $2.2, Hero raises to $13.7Normally I wouldn't go crazy like this here, but there were a couple factors that made me do it:1. His initial limp was from UTG +1 (which in 6-max is basically MP). I didn't think he'd risk limping here with something strong.2. He is short stacking, so I don't have the implied odds to call his three bet and hit a set.3. I feel like he might be nervous to get it all in there, I have shown strength all the way. What do you think? Thanks.
Temporary Nuts 1
What do you think? That you just ran into aces2. He is short stacking, so I don't have the implied odds to call his three bet and hit a set.So you have to call a dollar to see ~3.5 dollars + 10 bucks more in his stack... 1:8 to hit a set 1:13.5 in implied odds... mtdesmoines 3
Do his stats say he plays a lot of hands but doesn't get aggressive with many? I think I slowplay him to death until I hit the board with a monster. I hate short stackers.
Acid_Knight 2
You post a lot of hands where you drastically overplay middle pairs
Webslinger516 0
Best play would be to limp behind for .25 and see a flop, then outplay him on the flop or flop a set and win a huge pot.

StilettoNole 0
You post a lot of hands where you drastically overplay middle pairsReally? I hadn't noticed that. It is something I will keep an eye on. Thank you for saying so.(BTW, this is not being sarcastic, I really hadn't noticed that.)Best play would be to limp behind for .25 and see a flop, then outplay him on the flop or flop a set and win a huge pot.Probably the reason I have been overplaying mid pairs. I have been focusing on playing in between TAG and LAG and making my PT numbers look good (which I have been doing a way better job of as of late, thanks to this community). In doing that, I am raising ALL pairs pre flop in unopened pots or in LP if it is limped to me. I would love to hear if you guys think this is a spew. But I'll be honest, doing this has made me sooooo much more money when I hit my sets than before when I would just limp 2-2 through 8-8.Thanks.
Acid_Knight 2
Iso raising limpers with PPs is fine. Doing what you did in the OP is not.Mostly I was thinking of your 99 hand where you LRR'd with it. There might be others, I don't know.

I remember I commented on your stats in an earlier post - primarily what seemed to be the issue there was a really wide disparity between your raising and calling numbers, which really only makes sense if you're playing in a game where there is tons of limping combined with tons of calling stations. Your numbers should reflect adaptation to the flow of the game first and foremost. Raising pairs when it's limped to you is good. Raising with anything in LP when it's limped to you is also good, within reason.Calling to outplay the villain in this hand postflop - meh, don't really like it. We're OOP the entire hand, making it harder. Stacks also make it more difficult since if at any point villain raises postflop, he's probably going to commit himself. Lastly, outplaying is easier when you have asymmetrical representation. In other words, one guy can rep a completed draw/set/2 pair because he limped or called, the other guy can represent TPTK/overpair because he raised. If both of you limp, the leveling game, even on the most basic level, is harder to pull off, unless the other guy has total squat. As for the hand - the reasoning you use for why he wouldn't limp reraise here assumes he's not an idiot but your read is that he is. The reraise is small - just call it. You've got enough odds with what's in the pot + implieds.

I don't remember that, are you sure it was me?If it was, it just goes to show how much I have improved after becoming part of this community. Also, I agree with nomad that I probably should just call his raise here. BuffDan 0
Also, villain is not that short stacked; he still has nearly 50 BB, which is too much to be investing with 88, especially after he limp/reraises the min. If he had 10-20 BB I would think about doing this, although 88 is probably still a little too weak.
