jmbreslin 0
Early in final table. I had been completely card dead prior to the FT but got some chips back with a few uncontested pushes shortly after the FT started. No relevant info on villain here.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (9 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)SB (t3020)Hero (t1645)UTG (t3705)UTG+1 (t5385)MP1 (t710)MP2 (t1895)MP3 (t5985)CO (t2140)Button (t2515)Preflop: Hero is BB with A, 8. UTG calls t150, 6 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.Flop: (t450) 7, 9, T(3 players)SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets t300, SB folds, Hero ???Question 1: Is this a good spot for a push-steal PF with only a UTG limper and SB completion in front? I don't have a huge amount of FE against either, but still...Question 2: As played, is the flop a good spot for a semi-bluff steal? Either leading the flop or perhaps going for a push check-raise? copernicus 0
Yeah, I like a squeeze PF. The table doesnt know you and will put you on a wide range, but you do have quite a bit of fold equity. The flop is tough because the board is so drawy that most any raise will be recognized as a semi-bluff. A lead push might convince villain that youve got a huge draw and fold a pair. With 11 likely outs and some small FE if hes got two overs this might still be a push after his bet, and youve got plenty of dead money to justify getting it all in if he calls. I really think you should be shoving here 100% of the time.On the flop, I am not really sure what to do. I'm not convinced you have that much fold equity and I think an ace may be in UTG's range, but you do have some fold equity and if he just has a pair and your ace is good, you are not a huge underdog if you get called.I would definitely be shoving this preflop though, you will take the pot down uncontested most of the time and it eliminates alot of problems that arise from trying to play a weak ace OOP. Hiles Mall 0
pretty simple, push preflop. fold flop. he's calling, too many draws / card combinations to where he wouldn't , and if he has a flush draw and a pair, your pretty much dead money.
jjgoldy5 0
I don't think you can push preflop here since he limped UTG without a read of a wider limping range UTG.On the flop, I think I either check / raise all in or fold... Don't forget you still have a decent amount of play in your stack, even some fold equity on a resteal or a squeeze potentially.
