Sick Session At Fallsview

Recommended Posts

So I leave work early cause I wanna get to fallsview before the snowstorm hit. Like usual I loaft and I get caught right in it. I considered going home but said **** it I'm not a pussy I'll just keep going. I get there in just under 2 hours and its empty as hell at 4:30. I get seated at a brand new table playing 5/5 which I always hate cause there are so many short stackers and no big stacks. This guy sits down next to me and I swear to god it was John Juanda. So the first hand we play h emakes it 20, I raise to 75 with AK, table folds around he calls and asks "wanna roll it?" I say fine cause I figure hes got a pair. He flips over AQ. So I had a pretty decent pot in the bag, oooooooops. Dealer peels off a Q on the river. I just say good thing you wanted to roll it for only $75. So I'm off to a decent start up about 80 going back and forth with hands, and I get Jh5h in the sb. MP makes a donkey raise to $15, with about 4 callers so I call and te BB calls, 7 to the flop.It comes Jc 10h 6h. I lead out and bet $30, scum bag on the button calls. The pot is at 165 at this point.Turn = brick.I lead out betting $85, he tanks for like 30 seconds and goes all in. Now I may have made a mistake to hellmuth call him because I thought he only had 150 left, but the idiot had a $100 chip buried at the bottom of a stack of reds, so instead of it being 65 more it was 165 more. He turns over J10 and I dont get there. So I'm down to $250, I add on $200Then this guy comes to the table and buys in for like 150, and he begins berating everyone at the table talking pure shit to him, then finally this filipino lady loses it and tells him off, it was the funniest shit. She got so pissed off cause he was questioning her call and shit on him for like 5 minutes straight then stormed off. I gotta admit this guy had me laughing.I ge.t into another hand from the BB with Jd9d, 6 way limped pot, my stack is down to about 380 at this point, flop comes Js 8d 7d. SB bets $20, I make it $70 folds round to the button who calls, SB folds. Turn, = brickI check, button bets 50, I make it 170, he callsI go all in in the dark on the river, I dont know why, I was really tilting at this point and I was hoping that one of my million outs would hiti but of course the river bricked, he calls and shows 8c8h. I probably shoulda just check called/folded to the river now that I think about it. So then that big mouth ******* starts berating me saying: "Oh these internet players will push any two cards that they think are good." I say: "I dont think you're in any position to talk, every time you go all in you're drawing dead." He says: "Get lost buddy, go home to PokerStars."I say: "You know maybe I will, at least its better than nurseing a short stack for hours, you're a real hero sitting there with a minimum buy in, everyone sould listen to what you have to say because you know everything right?"he says: "Ya at least I'm not losing $500 like you when I go all in"I kinda laugh and say: "You see I can afford to buy in for the max, keep grinding out that rent money its real noble work you're doing" (Edward Norton ftw)So I leave all pissed off and go to my car, I roll up a joint but realize I dont want to drive home through the snow storm. It was only 630 so I went back to the casino and got $200. I went over to the Hold em Bonus table and got up to $500, then dropped to $125. Got up went to roulette, bet it all on black. Finally won a coinflip, went back to hold em bonus. I run my chips back up to $525, then head back to the poker room.I get a seat at a 2/5 300max table this time and get involved in pots early. I get Jd5d again, I limp utg, cut off makes it $20, button, sb, bb call, I make the call getting sick odds. Flop Ad 4c 6d I check, CO bets $25, button calls, I callTurn 6c I check, CO bets $25, button calls, I callRiver 4d, I lead out and bet $100, CO tanks and folds, SB calls all in for $78 with a 8high flush, ship it!!I went for dinner came back and there was way more money on the table and I had abuot 500 on the table and 225 pff tje table, still stuck 175. I get QQ in the CO, with 3 limpers, I make it $30, button folds, SB makes it $200, folds round to me. I went into the tank for like 4 minutes. But I was so sure I was beat. He had 240 behind him so if I'm playing the hand its for stacks, not jusit for 170 more. I figure the only hand he can do this with that I'm beating is Jacks, or possibly AK. I only had $30 in the pot and we were both semi deep. I flashed a queen and said I've never folded these before and mucked. The guy next to me was like "Man you gotta get your money in when you think you're ahead." I say: "I didn't think I was ahead though."He says: "Man if I see Pocket Queens I'm goin all in, that hand is too good of a hand to be folding"I play more, my stack goes down to about 390, I get AhQh in MP. I make it $25, MP2 calls, CO calls, Floop: 8d 7h 6h, SB checks, I bet $30, MP2 makes it $115, CO Calls and is all in, I have around 340 left, and I move in on him. (This was the 3rd time he's re-raised me, so I felt I had to play back this time no matter what, and I had a huge hand). He thinks for a little while and says "I have 2 pair you know." Thinks for a ltitle more and goes "Ya I call." Turn: 8h, Kablammo!! oh wait did he say he had 2 pair?? He says "I think you counterfiet me"I say: woooww 6 7 ??River AdHes like "yup", I show the flush and hes like "Wow all in on a flush draw? Nice hand". So it was a rediculous pot, $967 if my memory of the betting serve me right. I donked off some chips at in the finnal few hands but nothing big, cashed out at the end of the session. As I'm walking out I see the guy that made the huge $200 raise to me when I fold Queens and he says "would you believe me if I said I had kings?" I'm like "ya I kinda thought you had Kings or better" hes like "good fold man I cant believe you got away from it. So I ended up being in for $900 and leaving with $1060.

lol idk if your being sarcastic or not, but I actually DO find it amazing when I read vegas trip reports on here, or daniel recalling a hand in a tournament or whatever, and they are able to remember every card and suit on every street.Whenever I go play at the casino and come back home to blog about it, I can't remember shit about my hands. I've thought about jotting shit down on my Sidekick while I'm playing but that'll just make me look weird, imo.

I enjoyed this... Reminds me of my college days when I'd make my trips out to play, light one up on the way...take a break, run out to the car, play some blackjack a few of my buddies n I would pool some money for some pulls on the $20 slots... had some great times, win or lose....

good read, but limping j5 utg? i think thats where i suk at poker, i need to start doing that more : )
lol I never said it was a good play, the whole table was a limp fest, I was on tilt playing anything suited / connected, because of how big the pots were getting. I just wanted to get involved in as many pots as I could at the 2/5 table because the players were all very weak. I was raising hands like 56 and takin it down with continuation bets pretty consistantly, so why not get in with J5 soooooted?Bull: its easy to remember the cards when its a big pot.

Bull: its easy to remember the cards when its a big pot.
Very true, but I never remember the big hands that I win after a few weeks though. But I can still remember the huge hands that I have lost.

I'm pretty sure it's easy to remember the hands when you write a report the hour you come home.

You might not be a bad player, but you made some(admittedly) brain dead plays, but you booked a winner and in the end, results are what matter. Sidenote: I don't usually remember the suits, but I remember the hand, like, if I had JXs UTG(???) and I flopped a pair + flush draw, when I was typing it up it'd become J5 of hearts and the board is Jx9h6h. Not sure why I'm still typing.
