StilettoNole 0
I'd love some serious responses on this. Thank you. I have been taking playing poker online very seriously for about two months. I have played alot before that, but just donked around and didn't play too seriously. I currently have a bankroll (started this month at $500) for .10/.25 NL which I have been playing pretty constantly for two or three months now. I feel as though I can beat these games, but I have had a hard time with discipline in the past and lose money taking a shot at heads up or playing above my roll (for instance, I played a few sessions at 1/2 and even on at 2/4 and do well overall, but it only takes a few gross setup hands [kings vs aces or aces vs a set] to lose a lot of profit that I made at .10/.25).So, my March goal is to play only four tables at a time and only play .10/.25. There is to be no exception to this rule. I usually play 5 days a week, for around an hour a day, which means about 400 hands a day and sometimes on the weekend. I don't think I'll have a hard time getting in around 8000 hands for the month (I am traveling to Nicaragua for a week, so I wont be playing at all then). What do you think a realistic goal in terms of profit is for this month? I did get to play a little this weekend (around 400 hands) and have a profit of $86 already for the month. Thanks for the help and reading.
navybuttons 15
I'd love some serious responses on this. Thank you.8000 hands of 6max NLHE is nothing. a big winner could easily have a 8000 hand losing stretch. and a big winner could have a huge rush. so the answer is -$500 to $800.sorry, i know that's not the answer you're looking for, but it's the best i can do. Zach6668 513
Bro, just play hands, don't worry about your winnings, just make sure you're playing solid poker. I know you're pretty dedicated to learning the game, as evidence from your posts in the NL forum. So, just stick with it. Like navy said, 8k isn't nearly enough for any sort of regression to the mean, meaning you can't reasonably expect your winrate in that given stretch to be close to your true winrate. So, just play hands, focus on making correct decisions, and the money will come.
bdc30 0
and post when you get to 50k/100k hands - then we can start getting an idea of where things are atDo the things Zach said and keep working on it and you'll play winning poker. Let the numbers work themselves out.
BudBundy 0
I want to be playing $200 PLO by the end of march. And i want to spend less money than what i spent in february.
bdc30 0
I didn't give myself a goal for February cuz I was on vacation at the start of the month, and didn't really know how many hands I was going to get to play, etc. Somehow...it ended up being the best month I've had since I came "back" in August. Only got in about 9k hands, but I really feel like I was playing well.Goal for march - MORE HANDS - 15-20k hopefully. Decent winrate - I'd be happy with 5 ptbb/100. Hopefully be fully rolled to go back to $50plo by the end of the month, if not then early to mid aprilGood luck boys & girls

I really need to stop making retard calls.I had shoved on his sb 4 orbits in a row i thought he had gotten tired of it and was restealing. thats really my only reasoning. i've been smacking myself since.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (3 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)SB (t3970)Hero (t4890)Button (t4640)Preflop: Hero is BB with , . 1 fold, SB completes, Hero raises to t600, SB raises to t4070, Hero calls t3370.Flop: (t8040) , , (2 players)Turn: (t8040) (2 players)River: (t8040) (2 players)Final Pot: t8040Results in white below: SB has Kd Ks (two pair, kings and fives). CobaltBlue 662
I really need to stop making retard calls.I had shoved on his sb 4 orbits in a row i thought he had gotten tired of it and was restealing.Even if he's "restealing" with Ax, he's ahead. And even if you're ahead, you're probably not far ahead unless he's go Kx/Qx. Basically...not worth calling...at all.
Sheiky 0
And i shove hand 2 pretty quickly as well.Hand one is one of the reasons why i f****** hate KQ, it's a hand that you pretty much have to raise in spots like this but when someone reshoves on you you can't really call because even if they're going it light you don't have a tonne of equity against their range. whatgreatis 0
Looks like I'll be arriving in Vegas on Thursday around 10:30pm. I have to stay at a hotel for a couple days but then I'll be able to stay with my friend Stanly. When I'm in Vegas I need to find an apartment, preferably one with a pool and weight room. I should also grab some job applications. I wouldn't mind being a waiter for a few months until I get on my feet. I bet waiting at some of the nicer restaurants in town could earn you some decent cash.I really hope I don't get carded at every card room I walk into. I get carded around here going to 18+ casinos so mehh, not sure if I can pass for 21. Worse comes to worse I'll go to some bum card room off the strip, they couldn't kick me out, they need the business, right?
Zach6668 513
Anything in Vegas that earns you tips will make you nice cash.Like I said in an earlier thread, you won't get carded in card rooms, unless you're completely out of line, or too drunk, etc. Just keep everything under control, act like you've been there before, and you'll be fine.I've only ever been carded at pit games, and at the pit cage. Poker cage should be fine.

And there's irony in this advice coming from someone that got kicked out of Imperial Palace.About the carding though...I get carded semi-regularly. I was in Vegas for a month last summer and probably got carded three times. I've also been carded in trips back since and this most recent trip to LA. (And I'm 25...but I look quite young.)
