We've had our fun, and gave it a damn good try, but I think we have to swallow our pride and abandon this hand. I dont see it being very profitable long term to fire out another bet after the turn card misses us. Besides, maybe you'll get lucky and he'll check behind you and show you the river for free.Idk, then again I really suck at poker

I'm pretty new to poker and maybe thats why, but I'm still having a hard time accepting that betting here is a good idea. Can you convince me instead of just saying it would be bad? I dont think a flush draw and gutterball is worth firing again, but make me abandon my own ship

I would have to say you might as well go ahead and pot the turn. The villain can't have that strong of a hand considering the non-raise on the flop. The hero has shown enough strength already up to this point, so betting the turn could fold a marginal ace. This is where the type of opponent matters... if he is the type of player who will commit to marginal hands such as ACE-Rag, I'd c/c the turn and lead river if we hit. What concerns me a LOT is a higher F/D.

I agree here, I think that we should fire around 2/3 of the pot to let him know that we have a strong hand, even if we don't. But if we know that he is a calling station and would make a stand with ace rag, then I c/f.

Bets 90? He doesn't have to have an A here, and even if he does I'd have a hard time putting him on AQ, AK or 2 pair. You might even get someone with a weak ace to fold.Do you have any reads on him?

Exactly what I did. Bet $90. Verrrrry slow call. zzzzzzzzzzRiver: brick ... don't remember what it was ... doesn't matter, it was a total, unequivocal brick. They don't build houses with bricks as solid as that card was a brick. Four barrell or c/f ??

Quit poker. ;-) This card is almost as good as any we can see. I'm getting the feeling I want the wheel and not the flush.

You sure he's never showing up with 3-4 here? :club:

Apparently Nate can play the second nut low or the rivered nuts the same way! Talk about not being able to pin somebody on a hand!

When I have the nut low, I tend to like to bet since I have no showdown value.
I was in a $2/$5 NLHE game (that Rockford Charitables game) last summer and won a three way $250 pot with no one playing the board, holding a six high. I would have won a $200 pot with a 6 high in KC last fall if I had made the call. I even called out his hand exactly. I wish our 3 had hit -- was the money card for both of us. I would have stacked him hard (about $1,500)
