effective stack is only 37bbs pre. I think shove is probably best here.
can someone explain what effective stack is? I know my m is around 24 and i have ~60 bb before anything happens this hand...does it have to do with the size of my stack based on his reraise? I couldn't backtrack from the 37 bb effective stack # and figure out what it means

effective stack is the max you're going to be playing for, his stack is about 46k so once the pot gets heads up that's what you're playing for, which is the 37 bbs, it doesn't matter if you have 60 bb or 600 bbs since he has less.

Should I 4-bet here or call and then decide on flop whether to lead or check....My problem with 4-betting is that it essentially turns my hand face up. But if we decide to 4-bet, what amount should we make it? I had an argument with my brother about 4 bet sizing and was wondering what amount is best considering his stack size...

jam or call, 4b sucks imo
super disagree with armen and NNB here. 4betting to 13.6ish is definitely better than jamming and infinitely better than calling. People are not gonna fold to 4b's in a 1$ tournament and will jam super wide too obviously. People are gonna fold ATo to a jam but definitely will flat a 4b here.

from the 3r. it's utg's first hand at the table, and the flatter is very loose passive. The way you played it, I think you have to call and hope he turns up with 66-1010. I would raise more preflop, so that AJ type hands hit the muck.

Stop being so ****ing results oriented...like seriously?! Someone said that he was a complete donk in the sunday thread or something to that nature...his range is soooo wide to like, a ton of PP, and even overs if he is that stupid. Stop saying his range is to just a JLike...if he has AA KK, you guys are getting it in PF...and prolly AK...but like, a J is soooo little in his range that we can NEVER fold here, like...everThis hand is 10000000% standard...sorry he made a horrible play agaisnt youYeah, 3bet a little bigger, but after that, the hand played itself

I maybe would've said it a little nicer than Ryan but I think he has a point.Here's what I think is quite a pessimistic range:
Text results appended to pokerstove.txt  74,250  games	 0.005 secs	14,850,000  games/secBoard: Js Jc 5hDead:  	equity 	win 	tie 		  pots won 	pots tied	Hand 0: 	57.533%	  56.87% 	00.67% 			 42223 		  495.00   { 55+, AJs, KJs, QJs, JTs, AJo, KJo, QJo, JTo }Hand 1: 	42.467%	  41.80% 	00.67% 			 31037 		  495.00   { QcQd }

Once you bet 100k and he ships you need 39.6% equity to call vs this range. I don't think as many Jx combos are in his range as I've put and I think we can discount QQ+ too, so it is hugely +EV to bet/call this flop.I don't see checking as that feasible of an option simply because we're going to be missing so much value by checking, there's like no jacks in the UTG raisers range, there's very few in the stations range and he can 100% shove with worse.

the fact that he was loose passive doesn't mean anything? if not then fine

in a couple of your replies you kind of make people feel like they shouldnt even be thinking about the hand at all and just getting it in. i agree its pretty standard but if you keep treating people so condescendingly they wont want to keep posting hands in here.should i check the river here?PokerStars Game #38026388899: Tournament #262010921, $3.00+$0.30 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level IV (50/100) - 2010/01/11 18:06:23 PT [2010/01/11 21:06:23 ET]Table '262010921 303' 9-max Seat #2 is the buttonSeat 1: Naslund44 (6005 in chips) Seat 2: corli6666 (1500 in chips) Seat 3: Bosna6666 (7750 in chips) Seat 4: schIizzer (3725 in chips) Seat 5: wil1949 (3050 in chips) Seat 6: London613 (1500 in chips) Seat 7: camstick2001 (2710 in chips) Seat 8: enatetingab (4135 in chips) Seat 9: subdylzep (9910 in chips) Bosna6666: posts small blind 50schIizzer: posts big blind 100*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to Naslund44 [Kc Kh]wil1949: calls 100London613: folds camstick2001: folds enatetingab: folds subdylzep: folds Naslund44: raises 300 to 400corli6666: folds Bosna6666: folds schIizzer: folds wil1949: calls 300*** FLOP *** [Qs 9s 5h]wil1949: checks Naslund44: bets 600wil1949: calls 600*** TURN *** [Qs 9s 5h] [7d]wil1949: checks Naslund44: bets 1000wil1949: calls 1000*** RIVER *** [Qs 9s 5h 7d] [Ts]wil1949: checks Naslund44:

Maybe then it will take away from people posting fairly standard hands and acting like there is a ton of strategy about ranges and what to do when really the answer is clear. I looked back at the other posts I have made in this thread and it was b/c I told you that you were being results oriented...like just because he had it means you should have folded, where in reality, you should be making these calls b/c in the long run they will be +EVStop worrying sooo much about the results of hands and ask things like, "I have queens, can I fold", when everyone knows the right answer is noAnd in regards to your hand, I usually just jam any pair and AT+, and KJs+ during the rebuy period...as played...I have no real clue, prolly vbet and call any shove...I just don't think anyone in the 3r is smart enough to check the flush here

i want people to post standard stuff. i think theres tons of strategy to be talked about in 'standard' hands. stop being a douche and just post your input on the hand.
