boy, you really do run bad...

Lately when in Vegas I seem stuck in a rut of Lotus of Siam, Sen of Japan and the Omlette house on Charleston near downtown.   Still love bFast at Cafe Bellagio too. Peppermill and Blueberry Hill g

I have been to both Sushi Sambas in Manhattan (both great) and the one on Miami beach (disappointing). Might have to try the one in Vegas. My list (fairly extensive I love Vegas and I love food.....I have eaten at all these places at least once):Mirage:Fin (Chinese)---beautiful interior room (great for a date) and fantastic classic Chinese food.Carnegie Deli (duh)---delicious, reasonably priced food (prices are eh but portions are huge) and very very convenient.Buffet---Just ok.Cali Pizza Kitchen---standard chain food, good location next to sports bookJaponais---decent Asian fare but not worth the price.Flamingo:Buffet--ok.Margaritaville---mediocre food, decent nighttime bar---always lots of girls.Hamada---mediocre Benihana style place. Caesars:Buffet--surpisingly mediocre. go to the bellagio instead.Hyakumi---upscale Benihana type place with adjoining sushi bar. Food is incredible, prices are high. Most entree combos come with tons of food (mix of steak, chicken, shrimp AND lobster tail)Mesa Grill---awesome. Great tex mex food, cool room, good location near sports book, but very high prices for dinner. You have to get a tamale if you go.Sea Harbor---ultra expensive classic chinese....very authentic....great for someone who is very familiar with Chinese cultureBellagio:Buffet---A Vegas must. Best buffet in town by far. Sunday brunch is the tits.Sensi---funky, eclectic asian place. Has chinese, japanese, thai and indian food. Overpriced but food is great and the scene is good. I loved the tandoori chicken entree.Jasmine---reasonably priced and very good regular old chinese.Cafe Bellagio: good for breakfast. Lines are often way too long for just a regular old cafe.Noodles: Awesome, awesome noodle bar. Soups are great as is the fried rice and pad thai. I eat here almost every time I come to Vegas.Circo---awesome view, decent Italian food. Overpriced.Wynn:Okada---one of the best sushi places in Vegas but the prices are not so bad. A good deal. Spicy tuna roll, ftw.Wing Lei---another classic and very awesome chinese place.Red 8---another Chinese place but it is very cheap for the Wynn.Daniel Boulud---Incredibly expensive. We had been to his amazing place in NYC and decided to go for it. Menu was kinda small, food was great but not worth what we paid. Really nice waterfall views.Luxor/Mandalay Bay:Burger Bar---In the walkway between the two hotels. Amazing burgers, good prices, good bar.....good place to watch a game.Fusia---terrible asian fusion place. AVOID.Buffet (Luxor)----AVOID.Backstage Deli----a homeless man's Carnegie Deli. Good if it is late and you are desperate.China Grill (Mandalay)----very good fusion place though pricey. i have been to this restaruant in NYC, Miami and Vegas and it never disappoints. Also a good "scene" at night.Red Square---great bar, never tried the food.Canter's Deli----Way better than backstage, not quite as good as Carnegie.Rio:Gaylord---laugh at the name, but the indian food is surprisingly delicious. Hard to find good Indian in Vegas.Mah Jong---really really good for what is basically a fast food chinese/noodle place. I lived on this place during the WSOP.Buffet---best off strip buffet for quality, price is eh.Rub BBQ---a very good BBQ joint. Great baby back ribs.Venetian:Noodle Asia----fantastic noodle place....as good as the Bellagio Noodles place.Tao---really disappointing. the one in NYC was much better.Enoteca San Marco----Mario Batali is the man. his place in the Village is better but this place (while pricey) served amazing italian cuisine. Crispy duck, ftw.Delmonico---An Emeril joint. It was fine but my wallet was crying afterward. Not worth the price, imo. Paris:Eiffel Tower---great French food, incredible views of the strip. Way too expensive but worth it to impress a ladyfriend. Worth doing once just to do it.MGM:Shibuya----really delicous Japanese place with fresh sushi and teppanyaki (benihana) style dining.rainforest cafe----crazy overpriced for a glorified sandwich/breakfast place. Avoid.Buffet----there are much betterPearl----supposed to be upscale Chinese but it was not great (especially for high prices). My moo-shu was doo-doo.Fiamma---Really nice Italian place without the pretentiousness. Went there for my buddy's birthday and we ate well and drank lots of red wine and the bill was manageable.Planet hollywood:Buffet----when this casino was the Aladdin, the Spice buffet was 2nd best in Vegas (after bellagio). No idea if it is still that good now that PH took over the place.Harrah's:Buffet---Mediocre at best with long wait times.Toby Keith's---almost as bad as Toby Keith himself.Hooters:Hooters----it's a good Hooters.
Agree mostly.Add SW steakhouse at the Wynn next time. Redic prices but so good it's almost worth it.Planet Hollywood has the 'Earl of Sandwich' in the back. Solid sammys.Rio, BBQ joint is great, Indian food place is so so, but still good (for Vegas). Also a fairly good fast foodish looking Asian place back by the sports book. What's amazing is that almost everyone that goes to the Mesa Grill falls in lust for it. It has to be one of the top 3 best strip retaurants hands down. It never sucks.

I may have mentioned it before, but if you want some serious Japanese food....They do teppan grill (Benihana) or Sushi, or just other japanse fare....But Osaka, off the strip. The teppan food is top notch, and the sushi looks amazing, though I've only had a few things.http://www.lasvegas-sushi.com/

I have Sushi 2-3 times a year and like it but dont love it. Is their really much diffrence between a high end sushi place and the rest of them? Also I have had Memphis Championship BBQ in Vegas twice and love it. Their are a few locations there. The ribs and brisket are my favorites so far. I didnt care for the hot links. The baked sweet potato was the nuts. Its the only real bbq place I have eaten at(bbq in Canada basically means grilled with sauce on it, dont see the slow smoked stuff that the US bbq places are famous for) so I really dont have any other expiriences to compare it to.

Yeah. To me, sushi is one of the few types of cuisine where there is a huge difference in quality between low-priced, mid-priced, and high-priced sushi places. I think you very much get what you pay for at a sushi restaurant.

Too depart for a moment, the best Sushi place I have ever been too, from the cramped and authentic Japanese laden confines, down to the mostly non english speaking staff and chefs and 2 hour waits.Sushi Gen in Los Angeleshttp://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=sushi+g...;fp=7MCNwvs4NB0The sushi is so fresh, never any gross "stinky fish" smell, everything is full of flavor and just melts in your mouth.Best spicy tuna rolls ever, best Salmon, smoked salmon, and all sorts of shit I would never eat but many swear by.A full selection of great beer too. Too bad this place isn't in Vegas...but if you are ever playing at Commerce, make it a point to get downtown for this place. It is great.and get there early.

Oh god yes. Eating low end sushi will make you never want to eat sushi again. It's worth the extra money to go somewhere that's even mid to high priced.Memphis BBQ is way behind Dave's Famous BBQ in quality, selection, and price. Still not great BBQ but definitely better than Memphis BBQ. If you want mindblowingly tasty BBQ go to Dinosaur BBQ in NYC, Syracuse, or Rochester NY. Thank me later.Edit: Of course I waste my 3,000th post talking about food. I'm such a fatty.

Booked for early October. Table 10, Emerils fish house and Mesa Grill are locks for my trip. How does SW Steakhouse compare to Delmonico's for those who have tried both? I have had Delmonicos and enjoyed it but wasnt blown away(except for the dessert which may have been the best one I have ever had)

Never been to Alex at the WYnn, but have eaten at most of the others. I know this much, if it sucks it probably does not last at the Wynn very long, son'bitch has pretty high standards.SW is my favorite price is no object steakhouse for the moment. If you can book a patio seat just after dark there is the bonus of a short light/music show against the waterfall every half hour. Very weird and way cool. The food is as good if not better than Delmonico. The steak was perfect. Sides were great. Bread basket v v good. The service is about as good (which is to say great imo). The desert is redic. We ordered some funnel cake thing. It came out on a plate that looked like three little trees and the cake nuggets were stuck all over it like clumps of leafs. Below were 3 dishes...melted chocolate, caramel and strawberry dip. Also had 5 perfect. huge strawberry's for dipping. really great restaurant.Enjoy Mesa Grill. Never been to table 10 or Emerils Fish place.

Was in Vegas last week and have a couple of reviews.Mesa Grill: Showed up at 11:40am for lunch but found the restraunt was closed. I was trying to figure it out as they open at 11am. As I walked towards the poker room from the entrance to the restraunt I saw that Bobby Flay was in the kitchen being filmed cooking. They were filming a episode of Throwdown between him and the chef from a Italian restraunt that is also at Caesars. They told me to comeback at 12:30 so I did. They were about another 10 minutes after that then Flay took off before they opened the doors. I had a tiger shrimp sweet corn and garlic tamale, yucatan chicken tacos and a peach mango crostado for desert. I was actually pretty dissapointed this time. The food didnt seem very flavorful. The desert i had was very weak(I let the waiter talk me into the crostado when my first choice was gonna be the chocolate cornbread pudding). $60 bill with drink and tip.Table 10: Best meal of the trip by a mile. Had a iceberg blt wedge salad to start which was very good. I had the entree dinner special which was a petite fillet mignon with a butter poached deshelled lobster tail and a jumbo shrimp served with white cheddar mashed potatos and grilled asparagus. Outstanding, the lobster was the best I have ever had. Everything on the plate was amazing. Then I had the white chocolate mallasadas with a vannila dip for desert, so good. Total with drinks and tip $100.M buffet: Its supposed to be the best in town these days but I wasnt impressed. The desert section is up there with the best but the rest was just ok. One plus is beer and wine are included in the price. I perfer the Bellagio buffet by a pretty wide margin though.Other than that nothing new to add. BLT burger was outstandin as usual. Grand Lux is a solid bargain play with pretty high quality. In N Out pwns as does Noodle AsiaOh and Bills Gambling Hall has the best $1 margaritas on the strip. LOL

Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens (Downtown Las Vegas) is the best restaurant I've ever eaten in. The food is phenomenal, the service impeccable, and the prices reasonable. You can beat one or two in Vegas, but not all three. My wife and I have gone there during both of our stays in Vegas, and I expect we'll go there every time we go for the rest of our days. My favorite dish is the Hot Rock Specialty Plate, it's chicken, shrimp, beef and swordfish cooked and served at the table on a hot slab of granite. Very cool, very tasty.
Anyone been to Hugo's lately?Gonna be in LV next month and may hit it up.

Totally! Right? Last year we stayed at Bills the first night and lived off those things. Nothing like donking it up at the roulette table with three plastic dixie cups each of $1 margaritas! All class!

wow, that is a first for Mesa Grill. Usually solid for sure. Maybe Flay clogging up the kitchen screwed things up?Table 10 is good.Bellagio and WYnn buffets ftw.BLT is ok imo, but still think Paris and Burger Bar have better. In n Out = best fast food burger by far. Noodle Asia owns me.Did the awesome/cheap Bill's marg. come with a mugging? :club:

yeah, this thread has value for sure imo. A few new places have opened, who knows how many others may have closed, but most of this is still legit.NoSup is in Vegas now and asked about a place today. I went looking for this thread only to find there had been some serious housecleaning here...lots of the old threads are gone.

Heh, I was just about to bump this. :)Anyway, headed out to Vegas next month, and looking for fish place recommendations. Ideally about $50-60 a plate total max.I'm the only one that likes fish out of everyone I know, so I need to get it any chance I get.
