boy, you really do run bad...

Lately when in Vegas I seem stuck in a rut of Lotus of Siam, Sen of Japan and the Omlette house on Charleston near downtown.   Still love bFast at Cafe Bellagio too. Peppermill and Blueberry Hill g

Ok just got back so I will comment on a couple I went tooTable 10 at The PallazoThe menu is tiny. There is a decent slection of hot and cold starters but there is litterlly like 6 or 7 entrees to choose from. I love Emerils Fish House so I decided to try this one and had a hard time picking something that appealed to me at the time from the limited choices. I had a starter salad that was decent. I went with the Jambalya Pasta for my entree and it was very good but I perfer just to get the Jambalaya dish at Emerils Fish House. I had the Strawberry Brioche Bread Pudding and a expresso for dessert and both were outstanding. Total bill for myself with tip was $85Mesa GrillMy second trip here for lunch. They were running a prixe fixe lunch menu special were you can choose an appetizer from a list of 2, an entree from a choice of 2 and the dessert of the day for $29 which is decent for a restruant of this quality. I went with Blue corn Pancake with BBQ duck meat for the appetizer, Sea scallops for my entree and both were very good. The dessert was white peach tequila sorbet and it was just average, nothing special. Total bill with drink and tip $50.BLT BurgerThe new upscale burger place at the Mirage. I had the Kobe Slider trio which is 3 diffrent topped Kobe beef sliders. It was very good. The skinny fries were just average but they also have waffle frie, fat fries and sweet potato fries to choose from. Very good draft beer selection with Guiness, Chimay, Bass, Blue Moon ale and others. The Kobe slider trio was the most expensive on the menu at $18(just for the burgers fries not included). Total bil;l for sliders, fries and a pint of guiness was $40 with tip. Deffinatly pricey for burgers but hey its Vegas.Other than that cant really add anything elses. Except I had the Wynn Brunch Buffet this morning and it was absolutely terrible $30 + not including champagne. Total rip off. The eggs bennidict tasted like stale butter, the hand carved bacon was very bland except the excessive amount of peppercorns it was crusted with. No breakfast potatoes of any sort, no crab or shrimp ommelletes like they used to offer on the cheaper breakfast buffet. I will not go back

Order the tasting menu at emeril's (7 or so courses, you can get wine flights with it too). I've had it twice and it was different each time, and really awesome.

Can anyone recomend a good Philly cheesesteak place in Vegas? I will have a car so it doesnt have to be right on the strip but perferably not to far away or in a sketchy neighbourhood. Also I see Fireflys has opened a downtown location at the Las Vegas Club hotel. Kind of a weird choice at least from what a dump that place was last time I was in there(about 3 years ago)

Hash House a GO GO on Sahara (half way to Summerlin area) is redic good. Get the chorizzo scramble skillet and the pancake (as big as a damn steering wheel)And there are many great steak joints, but my fave right now is SW at the Wynn. In fuhreeking credible. Ask for a table out near the lake right around 6:45. A crazy show starts on that waterfall that is very cool. And the food is phenomenal.Sushi Samba at the Palazzo is insanely good and different, and WAY more than just sushi. THe menu is huge and the Sea Bass is hands down the best I have ever had. TRUST ME ON THISThose were the standouts from the 4th of July

Stop in the Egg and I a few blocks down Sahara west of fifteen for the best breakfast in town....Tell them to load up an omelet with whatever they can find back thereOdds are strong they will ask if I sent you

SteakOut, this is by far the best "philly" cheese steak ive have since i moved here 4 years ago. I grew up about 20 miles from philly so i have a pretty good idea of what im talking about here. The address is below:1311 W Sunset RdSuite #105Henderson, NV 89014 Its reasonably priced and I have had both cheese steaks and hoagies from here and was about as impressed as I could be in Vegas.

That's where I used to work here in Chicago. He's right, Sea Bass is damn good. (Good tip, if you want to do a bunch of smaller stuff, and not have a full entree, they have anticuchos, which are just little skewers with a couple bites on each, and there is a sea bass one that is the same as the entree)Also, don't miss either the Seviche or Tiradito's, both are good. Lots of good specialty rolls too. I haven't seen the Vegas menu, but I'm sure it's not too far from what I was working with.

I have been to both Sushi Sambas in Manhattan (both great) and the one on Miami beach (disappointing). Might have to try the one in Vegas. My list (fairly extensive I love Vegas and I love food.....I have eaten at all these places at least once):Mirage:Fin (Chinese)---beautiful interior room (great for a date) and fantastic classic Chinese food.Carnegie Deli (duh)---delicious, reasonably priced food (prices are eh but portions are huge) and very very convenient.Buffet---Just ok.Cali Pizza Kitchen---standard chain food, good location next to sports bookJaponais---decent Asian fare but not worth the price.Flamingo:Buffet--ok.Margaritaville---mediocre food, decent nighttime bar---always lots of girls.Hamada---mediocre Benihana style place. Caesars:Buffet--surpisingly mediocre. go to the bellagio instead.Hyakumi---upscale Benihana type place with adjoining sushi bar. Food is incredible, prices are high. Most entree combos come with tons of food (mix of steak, chicken, shrimp AND lobster tail)Mesa Grill---awesome. Great tex mex food, cool room, good location near sports book, but very high prices for dinner. You have to get a tamale if you go.Sea Harbor---ultra expensive classic chinese....very authentic....great for someone who is very familiar with Chinese cultureBellagio:Buffet---A Vegas must. Best buffet in town by far. Sunday brunch is the tits.Sensi---funky, eclectic asian place. Has chinese, japanese, thai and indian food. Overpriced but food is great and the scene is good. I loved the tandoori chicken entree.Jasmine---reasonably priced and very good regular old chinese.Cafe Bellagio: good for breakfast. Lines are often way too long for just a regular old cafe.Noodles: Awesome, awesome noodle bar. Soups are great as is the fried rice and pad thai. I eat here almost every time I come to Vegas.Circo---awesome view, decent Italian food. Overpriced.Wynn:Okada---one of the best sushi places in Vegas but the prices are not so bad. A good deal. Spicy tuna roll, ftw.Wing Lei---another classic and very awesome chinese place.Red 8---another Chinese place but it is very cheap for the Wynn.Daniel Boulud---Incredibly expensive. We had been to his amazing place in NYC and decided to go for it. Menu was kinda small, food was great but not worth what we paid. Really nice waterfall views.Luxor/Mandalay Bay:Burger Bar---In the walkway between the two hotels. Amazing burgers, good prices, good bar.....good place to watch a game.Fusia---terrible asian fusion place. AVOID.Buffet (Luxor)----AVOID.Backstage Deli----a homeless man's Carnegie Deli. Good if it is late and you are desperate.China Grill (Mandalay)----very good fusion place though pricey. i have been to this restaruant in NYC, Miami and Vegas and it never disappoints. Also a good "scene" at night.Red Square---great bar, never tried the food.Canter's Deli----Way better than backstage, not quite as good as Carnegie.Rio:Gaylord---laugh at the name, but the indian food is surprisingly delicious. Hard to find good Indian in Vegas.Mah Jong---really really good for what is basically a fast food chinese/noodle place. I lived on this place during the WSOP.Buffet---best off strip buffet for quality, price is eh.Rub BBQ---a very good BBQ joint. Great baby back ribs.Venetian:Noodle Asia----fantastic noodle place....as good as the Bellagio Noodles place.Tao---really disappointing. the one in NYC was much better.Enoteca San Marco----Mario Batali is the man. his place in the Village is better but this place (while pricey) served amazing italian cuisine. Crispy duck, ftw.Delmonico---An Emeril joint. It was fine but my wallet was crying afterward. Not worth the price, imo. Paris:Eiffel Tower---great French food, incredible views of the strip. Way too expensive but worth it to impress a ladyfriend. Worth doing once just to do it.MGM:Shibuya----really delicous Japanese place with fresh sushi and teppanyaki (benihana) style dining.rainforest cafe----crazy overpriced for a glorified sandwich/breakfast place. Avoid.Buffet----there are much betterPearl----supposed to be upscale Chinese but it was not great (especially for high prices). My moo-shu was doo-doo.Fiamma---Really nice Italian place without the pretentiousness. Went there for my buddy's birthday and we ate well and drank lots of red wine and the bill was manageable.Planet hollywood:Buffet----when this casino was the Aladdin, the Spice buffet was 2nd best in Vegas (after bellagio). No idea if it is still that good now that PH took over the place.Harrah's:Buffet---Mediocre at best with long wait times.Toby Keith's---almost as bad as Toby Keith himself.Hooters:Hooters----it's a good Hooters.

Flamingo:Margaritaville---mediocre food, decent nighttime bar---always lots of girls.
Noisy and overpriced. Food was okay.
Caesars:Mesa Grill---awesome. Great tex mex food, cool room, good location near sports book, but very high prices for dinner. You have to get a tamale if you go.
Had breakfast there, it was fantastic.
Luxor/Mandalay Bay:Burger Bar---In the walkway between the two hotels. Amazing burgers, good prices, good bar.....good place to watch a game.
Loved this place, the Kobe burger is phenomenal.
Rio:Gaylord---laugh at the name, but the indian food is surprisingly delicious. Hard to find good Indian in Vegas.Mah Jong---really really good for what is basically a fast food chinese/noodle place. I lived on this place during the WSOP.
Gaylord was my first time trying Indian food, I was fairly impressed.Mah Jong I wasn't a fan of, it was very generic but at least the prices were low.
Venetian:Noodle Asia----fantastic noodle place....as good as the Bellagio Noodles place.Delmonico---An Emeril joint. It was fine but my wallet was crying afterward. Not worth the price, imo.
Big fan of Noodle Asia!At at Delmonico's last year and it was pretty good, but the side dishes were better than the steak I had.A place at the Wynn you left off your list is Strata, right across from the poker room. Went there late night for a meal and had some fantastic Italian food and really good wines and deserts. The meal was incredibly reasonable priced.

GAYLORD!Actually, as far as Indian goes, I recall there being a pretty decent place up on Sahara, just a fwe minutes to the left of the Strip. Can't recall the name, but it was mainly northern style curries and tandoori.

When I was in Vegas last year for my first time ever we did both Noodles (Bellagio and Venetian) Both were great but the Venetian was by far the best.We are going again in Sept for our anniversary and I have to decide on a nice fine dining romantic place. Any suggestions would be great though I have been reading through this thread this morning.

Its pretty easy to find, its right across the street from the Galleria mall, on sunset, on the east side of town.I guess you could just mapquest it.Also, if anyone likes Vietnamese food, I had FA (soup) for the first time, at a place called Pho Kim Long. Its on spring mountain in the china town area. Its 24 hours and you get a big bowl for 7.50. I recommend getting the flank steak fa, and have them cook it rare. The soups broth will cook the steak a little more as you eat it.

Try Carne Vino. Its in the Palazzo. My parents ate there when they came out for thier anniversary and couldnt stop talking about it. The restaurant looks nice from the pictures I've seen and everyone I have talked to that has ate there has really enjoyed it.Im making my parents take me when they come back out in October. :club:
