Harrah's is newer and it's nice. The lowest limit I've seen is 3/6 and the highest 6/12. Usually at night they get a no limit table going (providing enough people request it). The limit action is loose, I've never played the no limit game there.

ameristar in st charles just outside of st louis is were the action is . I go there 2 times a month the fri sat and sun are action like a mfer. there is a 20 -40 kill games that is like no other. 7 and 8 way action capped is not unusual. the biggest 20 40 pot 1 ever won was there it was almost 1400.00. The no limit is mostly restriced buy in 100, 200 , 500. there is a 500 loss limit in missouri but you can buy chips from players that horde them. Just ask players in the 20 40 game the all got em.. good luck

There is a poker rrom downtown at the President, which is the closest to the stadium. i recommend going to Harrah's in Maryland heights, or Ameristar in St. Charles - they are real close to each other on the west side of saint louis.Harrah's is new and nice, they tries running other games, but it is all hold em now. Tons of 3-6 games, some 6-12, and then no-limit, which is run however the games are going, usually 2-5 with 200-500 buy-in, maybe a 1-2 with 100-300 buy-in. Ameristar has a bigger variet, with hold-em and omaha (at least the last time I played there) and games from 3-6 to 20-40. The no-limit games are lower 1-2 with 100-300 buy-in.The no-limit games are much looser at Harrah's, and hence more fun. If they are running must move tables, your initial table is usually easy, and the main table tougher just because guys don't leave and build up huge stacks.Ameristar games are much tighter and if you get people making minimum 100 buy-ins the games can get boring.

The President Casino has a poker room too. I was thinking about heading down there to play sometime, but I don't know anything else about it. I know they had $55 multi tables for a while, and now have sit n gos, thats all I know.

The president is the least desirable in terms of looks and facilities but is all 4/8 with an occasional 2-5 N/L game if there is interest (usually on the weekends but very infrequent). Alot of older players during the day, and play isn't all that bad. The weekends have more of the younger crowd with a few drinkers/drunks due to the bar scene that is close. They have a bad beat jackpot for the 4/8 game. They also have $50+5 single table winner take all tourney's. These tourney's are run one at a time as soon as the list fills up. They usually have 5 or 6 a day. They also always run a list for stud.Harrahs is nice and has 3/6, 6/12, 2-5 N/L, and 5-10 N/L which can get pricey. The room gets pretty crowded during the weekend and in the evenings during the week. their bad beat jackpot is over $200,000 right now and only applies to the 3/6 game I think.Ameristar is pretty nice also and pays for 4 of a kind hands and bad beats . Their games are 3/6, 5/10, 15/30 sometimes (mostly on Tuesdays), N/L, PL Omaha, and $50+10 single table tourneys. These tourney's pay out 3 spots but it takes a while for the list to get full. I have been there at 2pm and waited until 3:30 just for the first on to start. The tourneys are only Mon-Thurs.All three have information about their poker rooms on their web site's.hope this helps, Good Luck!
