You didn't mention the other three stacks but some math indicates that there are 127,000 chips left between those three so I'm assuming that all three of them have more chips than you. That puts you 5th in chips although the SB is right behind you. I shove and hope to get HU with the BB who is committed.

Was barely 4th in chips I believe, and shove was the play that was made. I thought it was a standard shove too, but the fact it was a satellite makes me believe the play may have been incorrect. I don't know?

Sounds like you made the standard move in this situation. AX suited in this situation is almost always a shove situation. How did it turn out?
Not good. The Sb calls allin w AK and the BB folds 44The Flop was K44 I was left with a 1k chip and managed to bust out 6th not 7th for a big ole bag of nothing.....good times

If you had 3.5BBs left like someone else said, it's a standard shove. As for Council Bluffs, IA, hope to see ya there. Gonna try and make it out there for a few days and play some tourneys, and probably a satellite.

totally dependent on whether theres another short stack in the first 4 positions. In an MTT this is an easy shove but in a satellite 2 from a major win youve got to be very careful about stack sizes. You know that BB is playing the hand and you also know that button isnt playing without a monster. SB will be getting good odds but still needs a good hand to play. so really a push here is an isolation play against BB. A7 is above average, so youre +tEV. However if theres a 2d short stack in the 12-15k range I think its a fold.

Thanks for the feedback copernicus. There is some value to it.
