serge 904
Sure glad they didnt include him on the Olympic team! Ironically the second leading goal scorer(Canadian) and the top leading goal scoring dman were not on the team.well you cant argue with a gold medal i guess.
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
If I was an NHL team right now, Id try to figure out a way to get Gary Roberts on my staff. Im not giving a lot of the credit for Stamkos' success to Gary, but he does deserve a little because it was his influence and guidance that had Stamkos train so hard since last year. Its too bad more of these young kids dont get influenced by older statesmen in the NHL who have proven hard work off the ice payes off in spades. (also, add Chelios and his LA workout connections to the Doughty list of credits)

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
yup first NHL game..hey, my son's first game was Tampa last year. actually, I thought it was a pretty good team to watch. Lecavalier, St.Louis, Stamkos.....and it was this time last year, and I have to admit, you could start to see Stamkos' abilities coming out.have a great time, enjoy.
Babying 613
yup first NHL game..The 1st game is also the best. Have fun.

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Roberts name has come up in the Galea investigations in Toronto for HGH.....you just had to ruin my fun didnt you?I really hope it just came up as rumour. Though I suppose it shouldnt suprise me if it was true.

Though I suppose it shouldnt suprise me if it was true. Not rumour. His name is in the files. The question is, was it HGH as it was with about 60% of galea's clients (which includes Tiger Woods, btw). His use of 'supplements' was very well known when he was with the leafs. He usually took the lead with young guys on the team for their personal training. He and Domi showed up after one summer of training together HUGE, to the amusement of everyone...

I was hoping it all from just hard work. (I dont necessarily blame/judge though. I might be tempted to do the same if I was in their shoes) This would explain a lot about Jeff O'Neill for me as a Canes fan.

Roberts certainly put in a TON of time in the gym, and outworked everybody on every team he was on...
mrdannyg 274
Stamkos' 41st was awesome. I don't know if I've ever seen a goal gift-wrapped that pretty. Though of course I'm pissed because they probably won't give Vinny an assist! 17-game point streak...impressive.

Zach6668 513
This guy is ****ing up my Richard bet with serge. However, I'd be happier to lose to stamkos than ovechkin.
