FCP Bob 1,321
Doesn't seem like u could claim internet poker as a business, since it's not legal in the US.The legality of online poker doesn't matter and whether it is actually illegal isn't certain and depends more on what State you live in.The short answer is yes many people will be able to treat poker as a business and write off reasonable expenses against their gambling income. Not everybody will be able to do this and every person's situation is going to be different though so I suggest you consult a local tax professional in your area.I'm assuming you're an American. If you google "Poker and Taxes Book" you'll get links to books that discuss it.
