Sad. Heath Ledger found dead in a Manhattan apartment.
If you wikipedia his name someone plastered a big azz penis on the page. So do NOT open up at work.

It just goes to show you that no matter how rich, famous, or talented you are, we all have our demons. AND DRUGS ARE JUST PLAIN EVIL!I'm starting to hear rumors that some people actually think the Joker character drove him to pills, they say he was having trouble sleeping because he was so commited to playing the demented, insane, character that he actually had to resort to sleeping pills, which apparently is what killed him.

While I don't know for sure if that was the cause, it would seem possible. It does really suck though. An extremely talented actor and well respected among his peers. RIP.

By your logic, cars are just plain evil, too.We lower life-expectancy by a bit, to improve quality of life. My life is exponentially better with drugs, and I'm perfectly fine. All this displays is that Heath was either stupid, unlucky or unstable.

There are plenty of other things you can do to improve quality of life that don't lower life-expectancy. Cars don't kill braincells among other things, you idiot.By your logic, you're a complete fool.

And there are plenty of other ways to get to work. No, cars don't kill braincells. They just snap your spine in half.

This possibility occurred to me as soon as I read that he had died. Though it's of course probably too early to know how legit this claim really is. However, according to wiki, filming for The Dark Knight only ended a couple months ago (which is later than I originally thought).

Did you really post the exact same thing in two threads? You can read the Dark Knight thread, I linked to an article a few months ago that discussed his wierd sleeping habits and problems he had while filming the movie.

Comic Book Resources
Actor Heath Ledger told the New York Times that the Joker is keeping him up at night. "Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," Ledger said. "I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going." One night he took an Ambien, which failed to work. He took a second one and fell into a stupor, only to wake up an hour later, his mind still racing. The actor also showed the Times reporter his "Joker diary" filled with "images and thoughts helpful to the Joker back story, like a list of things the Joker would find funny (AIDS is one of them)." Ooh.

Dutch gets a little jealous when people die and take the attention away from him.

Yes, El Guapo, logical extensions tend to stretch commonly accepted fundamental precedent. It's a stretch. I'm stretching it.The point it takes us to is that length-of-life is not our greatest value generally, and that we all trade it everyday for quality-. Doing so isn't "evil." In a purely survivalist regard, it is perhaps illogic, but we've established that it's perfectly normal to trade logical value for existential value. Drugs are awesome, as are cars and junk food, and I have no regrets about shortening my life a bit for any of them.

More proof that you are a fool. And the whole car thing...it's a bit ironic that most fatal car crashes are a result of substance abuse.

Yeah, I did post in two threads. I posted in this one first, then noticed the other one was getting more traffic and copy and pasted in that one, too.

While I see where you are coming from, if you died because of a drug overdose, or from health complications led to drugs, nobody will point out how awesome drugs are and that you were a fine lad who lived to the fullest through drugs, how awesome is that. No, that's not how it works, and it's an incredibly selfish way of looking at things. How would/are your parents going to feel? People who love you the most? If you overdose tomorrow, how many close friends, how many people on this site would modify there habits? This is largely the problem with society right now- we can find a way to justify and rationalize so many things in the name of pleasure it's disgusting. Your thought process is a prime example of this mindset that exists right now.

Why, what is the point of life if not the pursuit of hapiness. Drugs are something that when used in a suitable way, can be very enjoyable. Sure there are risks, but there are risks in everything that we do in life. Sex can lead to heartbreak, disease, and worst of all children. Work can lead to stress, distance from family, and can make you a greedy ruthless bastard who becomes only concerned with advancing in his career. At the end of it all you're still dead, and it doesn't matter if you took drugs and drank too much, or if you wasted your life in the office. It only matters that you did what makes you happy, therefore the pursuit of pleasure is the individual mans highest possible goal. Oh and I don't own a car.

Right. How you live matters not. Just as long as you made yourself happy. Because, really, I mean, what's life, anyway? A----------B. That's all. The ---------- part doesn't mean shit in the long run. Oh, and what is the suitable, predictable, safe way to do drugs? How does one consistently dodge the nasty very possible side effects of the various types?
