Pulp Fiction, while very good and spawned a generation of yak-flicks, is waaaaay overrated. No, don't even try to argue the point. Greatest films (some):Casablanca (drama)North by Northwest (thriller)The Godfather I and II (epic)Blade Runner (sci-fi)Some Like It Hot (comedy)The Big Sleep (film noir)The 400 Blows (French)

I hate the overacting in older movies. Godfather obv great. Bladerunner is watchable as long as it's not the one where Harrison Ford narrates the whole time. Foreign films ftl.

STOP LISTING MOVIES EVERYONE!! This thread is about Rad, the best movie ever. I couldnt agree with the TS more. In fact, this is not only the best movie ever, it is the best soundtrack ever, with hits like Send Me An Angel and Thunder in Your Heart. My friends and I loved this movie so much we made replica jerseys of the bikers. My buddy was Cru Jones, and I was Team Redline's Scott Clark. We also had Hollywood Mike Miranda. Awesome flick. Top 5 parts to the movie:1) Final race on Helltrack, obv.2) When Bart Taylor joins Rad Racing (why no sequel???)3) When Cru Jones finishes high enough to qualify in the last qualifying race.4) When Cru and Lori Laughlin are doing a follow the leader bike ride, and you can tell Lori Laughlin's character is a huge dude with broad shoulders and a wig.5) The old guy trying to keep Cru Jones off of Helltrack is drunk in the movie constantly. Either that, or he recently had a stroke and they made him do the part anyway. Either way, its entertainment.Best Movie. Ever. Airborne and Gymkata are good also.

We have similar taste in liking old movies, and I can tell you're a Bogart fan. My absolute favorite, though, is _To Have and Have Not_. Even better than Casablanca, IMO. [bogey and Bergman were never in love, and it shows. Bogey and Bacall were madly in love, and it shows.] The scene in _The Big Sleep_ where Bogey and Bacall are ostensibly talking about betting the horses but are really talking about sex, is one of the hottest scenes ever (intellectually hot, not porn hot)._To Have and Have Not_, though, has the single greatest set of credits in movie history:Starring: Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, Walter BrennanScreenplay by: WILLIAM FAULKNERBased on a short story by: ERNEST HEMINGWAYTop that!

Trivia from IMDB:The scene where Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall make suggestive talk about horses was added almost a year after filming was otherwise complete, in an attempt to inject the film with the kind of risqué innuendos that had made To Have and Have Not (1944), and Bacall, so popular a few years earlier.

Interesting. I didn't know that. I did see an interview with Bacall in which she described both _To Have and Have Not_ and _The Big Sleep_ as miserable experiences, because she and Bogey were in love, but he was still married. She said _Key Largo_ was the happiest film she ever did, because by then they were officially together. And come to think of it, _Key Largo_ has some damn good credits, too: Bogey, Bacall, Edward G. Robinson, Clare Trevor, Lionel Barrymore, and directed by John Huston. They don't make 'em like that anymore. On an entirely different topic, I must recommend John Woo's Hong Kong films. His American work hasn't been all that great, but he did some magnificent stuff in his native Chinese, many of them starring the incomparable Chow Yun Fat. The best are:The KillerHard BoiledA Better Tomorrow (a 3-part trilogy)A Better Tomorrow, Part II has what is probably the single most bullet-riddled shootout in all of worldwide cinema history. It's the final battle, and it takes place at a gangland wedding in a tiny church where everybody, including the bride and the priest, are armed. MASSIVE shootout, with characters running and slipping on the carpet of bullet casings on the floor. Almost ten solid minutes ... no dialogue, just gunfire. Amazing, deservedly famous, and ought to be seen by everyone.
