20TN40 0
I have a new internet connection...........moved from cable to satelite. There is a horrid delay when I play on Full Tilt, but I haven't noticed any lag in play on Poker Stars. Is this something different at FT? Is there anything I can do to speed up my connection on FT?And while we're at it, since I have changed internet providers and home address, is there any simple way to get rid of my old FT account and sign up for one with rakeback? Thanks in advance!!!! Um FTP has problems all the time might just be it. Um for the account you can but just sign up with someone else's name who lives there.
qyayqi 11
with the address change you should be able to sign up with some small variation on your own name. lots of people out there with the same names, so as long as your address is new you should be good to go. (just don't use the same deposit/withdraw options from your old account.)

HollywoodAFD 0
Why did you switch from cable to satelite?
SpeedKills 0
OP, I think maybe just switching up your name a little bit might be easy enough, but just make sure if you get a check sent you can get it cashed.
NoSup4U 0
Why did you switch from cable to satelite?Agreed. You crazy!FTP is just more bandwidth intensive, so if your connection is slower you might not notice it on Stars, but you will on FTP. I have the best connection I can get with my cable company, and FTP still lags briefly for me every once and a while.Mark
20TN40 0
Why did you switch from cable to satelite? No choice in the matter. Where I have moved to, the only options for now are dial up or satty. I just can NOT go back to dial up. I have not done anything with the FT account yet and have a few options available IF they will work...........I have moved to a different city, different county and have a different phone number. I can create a new account in a couple of names but still would need to use my CC or Epass account to deposit. And I'm not sure how to get my measley $35 off FT into the new account. Would it maybe be best to move the money, delete all FT stuff from the computer and then give it a month or so before I make a new account? Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!! psujohn 0
Do you want the technical answer? Satellite has latency issues. Put simply latency has to do with how long it takes to get a message from your PC -> satellite -> back to the ground -> server. Satellites are far enough away that even at the speed of light it takes a noticeable amount of time to do a round trip. While satellites have high bandwidth (they can send lots of data in a short amount of time) their latency makes a satellite connection less than ideal for interactive communications (like video games, voip, etc). If you ever watch a live by satellite interview from around the world you'll notice a long delay between when the host completes a question and the guest answers. I need help on FTP also, because I just can't seem to win there. Rigged.Tell me about it. Got some more money on FTP so I decided to play there some instead of stars.Get AA. I raise, villain 3-bets from blind, I call. Flop QJ6r. He bet's, I raise, he 3-bets, I shove, he calls with AQ. River Q.laterI get KK in the blind. B raises, I call. Flop A53r. I c/c. Turn blank. I c/c. River K. I check villain shoves with 55 I call.May the worst hand win. (yes I know I played that last hand horribly)
