knoxxxy 0
Generally i play no limit holdem, but lately i've been playing some Pot limit Holdem with some success. I actually like the game more because i find in no limit alot of the art and strategy in my game is destroyed by people making big preflop plays and overbetting.Seems as i'm new to Pot limit, i have found it very similar, but was just wondering if anyone could give advice on any changes i should make to my game when playing Pot limit as opposed to no limit. Is the strategy much different? What do i need to change?Cheers
HollywoodAFD 0
Not a lot of difference in the strategy of playing. There's pros and cons to it.When you want to run someone off their hand...often you can't because of the limited bet BUT it does keep the donkeys from playing early rags and pre-flopping you off your hand.I guess it's whatever you like...some of my friends prefer PL but I don't. dscoot 0
pl is more friendly to a limping, small ball style than no limit. late in pl tournys, stealing the blinds is not as important bc of no antes. This also means that you can play tighter if u want to bc of no antes.
El Guapo 10
Pot limit can actually play bigger than no limit, because you build pot sizes, there is not going to be a lot of people pushed of there hands preflop, so more flops are seen and people generally open up there range and play OOP.So if you have 3-4 callers and then some 1/2 pot bets and calls on flop, turn and river could make for huge multiway pots.
