Loismustdie 0
Obamas speech was one of the best I have heard in a long time. He scored a few with me tonight. It's going to be interesting to see how Camp Clinton attacks, in that they really can't. You attack the first real black candidate in forever and you lose your black supporters. That being said, if Obama and Huckabee end up being the 2 major party representatives, Huckabee wins, because I think that campaign will be about actual issues, instead of negative mud slinging. Plus, the religous right is still the strongest group alive right now thank God.
El Guapo 8
None of them will win.You could make Hitler the Democrat nominee, and he would still beat anyone the Republicans will put up.This is just ridiculous, I find it hilarious that people are so upset about the supposed bad job bush has done that they think america will turn deaf dumb and blind and vote in a crazy person.Pretty pathetic that either side can't come up with a good candidate. This has been like this for awhile, besides Regan not one of our president in the last 30 years have been the "best man for the job" they are the best of the poeple willing to do the job who want the power. Think about how crappy it actually would be to be president!! It is 24/7 you have the most stressful job of anyone in the world, everyone hates or loves you, really no in between and you pretty much have to be rich already to get the job. If I was 50-60 and extremey wealthy and was fairly politically powerful there is a very small chance that I would want to be preseident, I would be thinking of retirement and traveling the world. nutzbuster 7
With your knowledge of republicans I'm surprised they don't force you out of Orange County. The republican party has not liked McCain for years, he will never make the Pres slot, never. He sucked up to the dems, is against real immigration reform, passed McCain/Feingold, a disaster of a piece of legislation, etc.Only his war record gives him any credibility at all.Huckabee is a guy that took advatage of a very weak field. But Iowa is 95% irrelevant. That's why Rudy ignored it. Only the media makes it a big deal because they sell.........advertising space. Super Tuesday is immportant.I will be voting for ObamaHuckabee was recently described as "the co worker beside you, not the boss who can fire you".This guy is charming and has a very Reagan-esque quality, sympathetic of the hard working class middle america, pro small business, peace thru strength, low taxes, etc.So far I really think this guy has a very good shot and winning.Obama is a force but his speach had a little too much "hey look! a black man won" tone about it. I know that may sound racist to some but it is true and if he isn't careful he could start alienating the rest of his base.And....thank GOD Hillary went down in flames. Even you dems have to like that. Do you guys really want to go backwards? Clintons are all about the past, and the one thing I have to give Obama is he is stimulating a forward mentality. This is the Democrats best chance. but this is a very long road yet....

nutzbuster 7
I have to say that I never looked into Ron Paul; however when I did see him appear on the Bill Mahar show , I seen the crowd of super progressive liberal lovers stand up and give that man a standing ovation... He then started to scare me... :DI have heard parts of some of his speeches, his thoughts about our economy are dead on; that’s never going to change though... My belief is that its not what the bushs, clintons, hucklebees and obamas do, its what the NWO (secret government) wants/does... Its all around, they want to destroy the American dollar to introduce the Amero ( North American Alliance ) currency... Most people are just to stuck in their own world to see this....Also his foreign policy is crazy.... Pull out of everywhere because we are the ones who cause violence in the middle eastern region... In some ways, yes that is true, but to say pulling out of all countries is the answer to all our problems, a very big mistake.... think 9/11...Well, I am Christian, but not a far right loon, but for the majority of my beliefs, they are upheld by the right; but that’s besides the point, of this highlighted comment, the state that your referring to is largely a Christian based state, so it makes perfect sense that Hucklebee is favored over other nominees...Personally I feel that most of the people running for 08 is not what the country needs... but then again why would it matter when most of them, the ones that will win, are from a secret society... a.k.a. masons, Bilderbergers, rockerfellers, Rothschilds, CFR, Bohemian Grove, Skull and Bones and so on... I actually am intrigued by R P, but the is just too "out there" to be seriously considered.

brvheart 1,757
I didn't say they are completely successful in getting everything they want shoved through but come on, you think I am wrong? Then what is it?Edit: The fact that McCain isn't a slam dunk Republican nominee tells you exactly how powerful the religious right is.I know you really think this... but you're dead wrong. The religious right, hey that's me, doesn't like McCain because he is a democrat that doesn't believe in small government. The members of the religious right that are voting for Huckabee are idiots.... they don't realize that he is not a fiscal conservative.... but they can totally trust him in the fact that he will not sway from being a social conservative. Romney, they can't trust.... McCain, they can't trust... Rudy, they can't trust... So Huckabee is what is left, since they look for social conservatism first and fiscal second. The wild card is Thompson... if Huckabee starts to slip, he may gain... because he is a fiscal conservative. Also at tonight's caucus their were people from the Huckabee camp that said that in the next week there is going to be two huge scandals coming out against Romney... if that's true then he may completely drop out, and fiscal conservatives will have to look to Thompson.I voted for Ron Paul. ajs510 122
Just wanted to echo the sentiment about how sad it is that we've got a dozen+ politicians actively seeking the office of POTUS, and not a single one of them is really worth voting for, rather than against. I like a few things about Huckabee (2nd amendment stuff, mostly, I like the idea of voting for a President that thinks the 2nd amendment should be just as important viewed as infallibly as the 1st one), but for everything I like about him, there's five things I don't, and that's basically the way I feel about every candidate in the race. Since I have to choose, Huckabee is the guy for me, but I'm not happy about having 3 elections in a row where I'm voting more against a candidate than for one (voted for Nader in 2000, Kerry in 2004). This time around, I'm big-time against Hillary and Romney, and while I'd love the opportunity to vote for Mccain as my next president, I know I won't get the chance since he doesn't play by the rules when it comes to party politics (big, BIG plus for me, since I can't stand the whole "we believe this because we believe this because we believe this" circular reasoning system of governing). I'd be all over a candidate that just says what he thinks and stands by the people that elected him, but instead we're left with no choice but to vote for the least horrible option put forward by the parties when all is said and done. I used to want to be a politician before I grew up and learned to hate politics.

Vandees 0
Guess what, noone will ever like everything about a candidate. Just because you don't agree with every platform they have does not mean that they are a bad candidate. Bottom line, people can tell when they are being bullshitted. Romney and Hillary are bullshit artists. People don't want that anymore. They didnt care when slick Willy was in office because the economy was so good, but give people a choice between a flip flopper with perfect hair and someone who sticks to their convictions, even if they are a little dumb, and the latter will win almost every time.I hope you all take as much time researching and talking about your Congressional candidates as you do the POTUS. Because, as BG pointed out, they're the ones who actually impact society. All the president can do is send troops, and even that is within the discretion of Congress (funding, declaration, or, like the Iraq situation, allowing it to happen and not having the balls to step in and do their job if they don't agree).I consider myself a fairly conservative republican, but I'm seriously considering Obama this year. He seems genuine and hard working. Huckabee would probably get my vote if he wins, but I think after New Hampshire the writing will be on the wall for Rudy, and he'll probably walk through the open door. Then I'm for sure voting for Obama. I especially like that young people are getting involved. Lets face it, people 18-30 don't really care about voting, even though the health care choices, SSec choices, and tax effects will impact them in the future the MOST, yet they are letting old yodas in the AARP strongarm the democratic process. Obama looks to be changing this, and that is a good thingHey BG, here are a couple more things you may want to add to your presidency.People with AIDS--shipped to Greenland. Greenland has earthquake and sinks into ocean. Government denies any weather changing tactics were used in this tragedy. End of AIDS epidemic.Health Care/SS crisis solution-- "The Mile". Everyone above age 65 is forced to run the mile. If they don't run it in a certain time, they are shipped to Antarctica, where there is universal health care, but only igloos to live in. Suddenly 23 yr olds now have a chance to avoid paying 40% taxes and getting social security before they are 80.

aadams_22 3
Any Republican has no chance this year. I hope above all hopes the Republicans nominate Huckabee - it will just make it that much easier for the Democrats. If Huckabee wins the Republican nomination, he's not even winning his home state, or even his home town. He'll be lucky to get 50 electoral votes in the general election, honestly. The religious right is tearing this country apart. The economy is in the shitter, the dollar is worth the price of a box of candy cigarettes, and the entire world hates us. Since Bill Clinton the American people have been voting in political candidates based on nothing but religious beliefs, and look where that's gotten us....*cough*...George Bush...*cough*. I know religious beliefs are important, but people should really look at what a candidate will do in office instead of what he/she does in church. Huckabee scares the hell out of me because he has the backing of the bible thumping religious nut jobs, and those people make up a large part of this country. It's no guarantee that we won't be in for another 4 years of hell.

We will soon rule the senate, the congress and the white house. Next comes governors, mayors, and finally internet service provider CEOs.I probably shouldn't say this, but they are gearing up for their super list of people that disagree with them by scanning the internet. nutzbuster 7
Can anyone verify these claims? (from an older e mail) Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHIEST from Wichita, Kansas. Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indo nesia. ? When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a Catholic school. Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school." Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that that he is not a radical.Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education. Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta. Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran. Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor will he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their hands over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches. Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy.
