How Much To Sit With?

Recommended Posts

This is a fairly simple question...How much do you guys sit with at a limit cash table? I have been sitting with 100x the Small Bet so $200 at $2/$4. I always seem to have everyone at the table covered (not that it matters) but it makes me comfortable. How much does everyone sit with and does a certain buyin have an advantage over another??

I'm the exact same as you. I play 1/2 and always sit with $100. It almost always has everyone covered (as you said, not that it matters)...and it's an easy number to remember where I started the session at. I think no-limit is much more important for stack sizes, and 50 big bets is huge for limit.

As long as you have enough chips to cap every street (for those rare times you hit a monster), it doesn't matter. The only exception that I can think of is on a site where they have uncapped bets when heads up on the river, and there is a maniac around who will 5+ bet into you with poor or non-nut holdings. In that case make sure you have him covered :club:

Yup.12 BBs before every hand for online games on most sites.I usually sit with 20 bets, but I'm quick to reload if necessary.

I sit with 30bb. Usually means I don't have to worry about reloading too often.
Yes, especially playing live when it takes some time to reload. Would hate to be down a little, then lose a huge pot on the river, then have $20 left and get dealt AA before you can rebuy.I sit in at 3/6 with $200.
