SpiderGuard 0
Edit: Another check-up hand that I think is fairly standard. Don't look for bad beats - they may or may not be there. I'm just trying to start playing "standard" hands better before I think about moving up in the world.Hand #46846288377 Card Stud *High-Low* ($0.25/$0.50), Ante $0.05, Bring-In $0.10Shakman (Seat 1): $10.30Orangey7 (Seat 2): $22.90Duperret (Seat 3): $7.25Jddd (Seat 4): $15.85kemomomma (Seat 5): $19.20donnrick111 (Seat 6): $24.90SpiderGuard9 (Seat 7): $19.15*3rd Street* - (1.40 SB)Shakman: xx xx 2d___*brings-in*___foldsOrangey7: xx xx 3h___foldsDuperret: xx xx 5s___completes___callsJddd: xx xx 9h___calls___callskemomomma: xx xx Td___raisesdonnrick111: xx xx 9d___foldsSpiderGuard9: 8s 3s 7s___calls Three-suited low cards - two connectors, I'll call just about anything*4th Street* - (9.80 SB)Duperret: xx xx 5s 6h___callsJddd: xx xx 9h 2s___callskemomomma: xx xx Td 4s___*bets*SpiderGuard9: 8s 3s 7s 3d___calls Added a pair to my three suited low-cards, although I'm behind in Razz against Duperret Gonna be careful of him next street.*5th Street* - (6.90 BB)Duperret: xx xx 5s 6h 9s___foldsJddd: xx xx 9h 2s Ac___*checks*___raiseskemomomma: xx xx Td 4s 6s___bets___callsSpiderGuard9: 8s 3s 7s 3d Js___raises___calls Here was my big play of the hand - I have a pair, four spades, and can still go runner-runner low. Cappy37 0
When you make "your move" on 5th there are only 4 spades in the deck that aren't physically in your hand or on the board.Your move was bet into ahead of you, and re-raised behind you. You are a severe dog either way in this hand.Your only saving grace is no one has a board that suggests a made low, so your crummy draw is still technically for the entire pot. You're "move" got you pot committed with a pair of 3's, two pulls at the last 4 spades you aren't physically staring at, and a shot at a stellar 87 low if you can manage runner-runner.Am I missing anything? Fess up, you switched the names and got your set of Aces cracked by some drunk guy randomly pressing buttons. You're among friends, you can tell us.Better way to phrase this: Poker players raise to narrow the field and/or get money into the pot when you are ahead. Your bet doesn't actually do this, as the one player who did fold was the only player *guaranteed* to call if he had what he should of (a 4 card 6 low). You can't rely on .25/.50 players to "think" about what you are holding too much. You appear to have a spade draw or a 7 low draw. The best they can put you on is spiking trip jacks, and they aren't going to bother. I can't even call this "fancy play syndrome" because you are building a pot when you are seriously behind and drawing thin.I think the main reason I'm so passionate about this is: it reminds me of some of the dumb $#!t I pull when I'm bored. lol. I really wanted Duperret out of the hand for some reason...I really think I misread my hand, lol. Someone was a little drunk pressing buttons I think ;)So other than mis-reading my hand and mis-reading the board, any other problems with this hand?

In your honor I went and nutbarred .25/.50 Stud8.. Managed to only lose a buy in in 2 hours, playing every hand. I must rule, or something. Probably the "or something". lol. I'm ahead so I lead out - I get raised...now what? Does villain really have me beat?7th - standard. It's not a *total* mess...I think 5th was just disaster....playin' too many tables at once and not really thinking through my plays. Thanks go to Cappy. I'm definitely open to more discussion on 3,4,6 and 7th street

I'm definitely open to more discussion on 3,4,6 and 7th street 3rd and 4th were completely standard. The disaster on 5th gave you some good drawing odds. It's impossible NOT to think you are ahead on 6th. You will not be a profitable poker player if you bail on 6th. I'm not sure I'm re-raising on 6th. This is very read dependent.. Reads help a lot here. There are some players I will value bet two pair against. There are some players I continually look for excuses to get OUT of a pot against if they look strong and are carrying the action multi-way.7th is standard. I will vary my play here at times and check. It's a razz play.. I get there.. and check because I *know* I am going to get bet at, so I get the free raise in and add to my profitz. I don't hate betting here either. And I'm still waiting for you to fess up that you were actually the villain with the trip aces here.
bassplayer45459 0
3rd St: A argument could be made for raising here, but i dont like to put pressure on with an 8 low, even if they are all suited.4th St: Peeling off a card here is fine. We can deduce that the bettor most likely has a buried pair of aces, or is rolled up. No clue what the guy with the 9 showing is doing5th St: I hate your raise, but that is me personally. So many spades are already out, there is no reason to raise except to push out the low, even then i dont like the raise because he is only staying in if he is beating an 8 or drawing to beat one. With this action, i say to myself that the 3 bettor has A's and 9's. The original guy with the 10 showing either just has a pair of 10's or maybe K's buried. 6th St.: Ok, i think we are good now. The guy raising with the 9 and ace showing probably thinks you are trying to represent two pair and is saying hey i have a better two. The 10 guy worries me. Part of me wants to say that he had 3 diamonds with two babies, but that doesnt explain his betting. I think he is praying with a pair of 10's still, maybe a weak two pair. 7th: River is standard. P.S. After reading the results i am patting myself on the back for figuring out the pair of tens guy. Surprisingly, i had both hands figured out, but reversed, haha.
