Balloon guy 158
But you have way more money now, so shouldn't that make you more happy? You can buy whatever and not worry about it. You could even sell everything and retire. I wish I could be that free.Way way more actuallyYes I can sell it all and never work another day in my life. My life would consist of waking up, walking to the orchid and picking a grapefruit for breakfast, having my beautiful wife cut it for me, and pour me some coffee. then I would waste half the day online posting silly crap just for the fun of it. then smoke a cigar or two, and read a bit, before planning my next trip somewhere in the world. But will I really be happy? El Guapo 8
i played at foxwoods with paul pierce and the rest of last year's celtics... THAT was a fun game, although orion green was actually a really good poker player (i think it was orion green)good post, la is funSaw him in Beverley Hills once bored out of his mind in Louis Vutton and again in Cartier with some chick spedning his money. It was pretty funny.I've played 4/8 with Larry Allen in Livermore at a crappy little card club. He is a very nice guy, and just loves poker, literally drives a 300K Bentley to play 4/8. Last year I went to the Bears/9ers preaseason game and he did not play in it, my buddy and I stopped there after the game and he was already in a seat. He had to of left at half time.Way way more actuallyYes I can sell it all and never work another day in my life. Steamed Rice 0
Once played 5/5 with TJ Ford at Fallsview, he is a decent player. Apparently a few of the Raptors are poker players, especially Kris Humphries who kept needling Uros Slokar (former Raps player) about a hand during a practice I saw...Hump kept screaming "Ace Jack baby ALLLLLLLLL IN!!!" Balloon guy 158
Do you realize how many people would kill to be able to do that? Not as many as would be willing to work hard at their own business for 10 years, taking side jobs moving furniture, or working on farms during the slow times to make it happen. Tiltinagain 973
It's what most people think they want. But inactivity doesn't really make people happy, fulfilling work does.Exactly right.I would be completely bored out of my mind with no reason to get up and get dressed every morning because I had no whereI had to be.While it would be nice to not HAVE to work, if I won the lottery tomorrow (fat chance since I never play the lottery but I digress) or otherwise became crazy rich overnight, I would buy/start some sort of business just so I had somewhere to go hang out when I wanted to. You can only travel/play golf/play poker/etc... so much before even that gets old and you get bored with it.Back on topic....Adam Morrison (Gonzaga, Memphis Grizzlies) grew up in Spokane and graduated from the same high school as my daughter, though he was a senior when she was a freshman, anyway, while at Gonzaga he played poker at my local card room. Many times I'd be there playing and he or Derik Ravio (sp) would call in for a seat the moment their plane landed from an away game and were there a lot between games. One night I felted Morrison, this is just 2 or 3 months, max, before the draft, and some other kid says to me "dude you should feel bad taking money off poor college kids like that". I just said "Uh, no offense, but Adam is 3 months away from making more money that I will the rest of my life, I think he'll be ok". Here's hoping I get to sit with him again soon cuz he's WAY better at basketball than poker, and he ain't no "poor college kid" any more! lol
