rivergirl 2
Alright, i've gotta know. I saw that jumpshot in the pokerstars commercial where Daniel is playing pool. I wanted to know A) Did Daniel actually play that shot? B) I was wondering if he used a full cue or a bungy (cause that's REALLY tough with a full cue.)?I know Daniel used to play pool seriously, but i didn't know if he still played at the level he once did or what that level was (although i've heard from a friend of mine who used to frequent the same pool hall in TO that he was pretty decent)Just wondering...i've seen it a few times and it's just made me ask. DanielNegreanu 141
Glad you asked :-) I grew up playing snooker and we don't jump balls so they had a local pro in Vancouver help me learn how to do it. The idea was that if I couldn't do it- he would. I used his jump cue and practiced, probably jumping and sinking the ball 1 in 10 times. The very first take we shot with the cameras rolling I nailed it and we didn't have to shoot another take. The shot before that actually took a few takes because the idea was that I'd make my ball and hook myself behind the 8-ball. I goofed up the shape a couple times but got it on the third try. Oh, and by the way, my Hockey spinorama was legit too, the overhead shot you saw was me. I did all my own "stunts" lol.
xmykro 0
I caught the pool commercial on ESPN, and was thinking the same thing. Thanks for answering, Daniel.

I really wasn't expecting you to personally, so ty. Now i'm kind of wondering who the local pro from vancouver is.......i play alot of pool and even tho i'm from Ontario i know alot of great pool players from the west coast. (mainly because my hubby is good). The first time i saw the commercial, i thought you massed the ball (being a snooker player would make sense). But it would've been a very tough masse from there so i waited for the commercial again. You did an awesome job with it.We go to vegas every year to play..maybe one year you should stop in and check it out (if you haven't already)

Southern Buddhist 1
All the PS ads are good. I like Joe's and Vanessa's as well. Okay, then, stupid question time: What is the finger mouse-y thingy in one older DN ad? I asked a friend who's way into electronics and he had no clue. I thought it looked neat, but would make for hard typing (faster mousing, though).

They look pretty similar and I like to save money when I can.
Robert Melendez 0
Watching him play pool in such a cool manner like that really felt like I was watching Edward Norton in some movie adaptation of Daniel's life.
DCJ001 0
I just saw the mouse for $11.98, if you're interested:http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006HRJR?tag=th...QRWZK6GC68&
Southern Buddhist 1
Oh, so it's just a pretty standard laptop mouse, then. Just from the very brief glimpse, it looked like a mouse that is worn on the hand (of which there are a few models). Thanks for the info.
