I saw this same thread at P5s and thought it was a good idea. With 2008 quickly approaching I think its important to reflect on the past year of poker and how you plan to improve as a player for the next year.. What are some goals that you have for 2008?Some of mine...1. I would like to get on a regular schedule of playing tourneys/SNGS and have 2 days off per week.2. Id like to make 200k in profit throughout 20083. Id like to final table a WSOP event( circuit, prelim.. anything)4. Id like to get ranked on p5s because if I get ranked it means im playing a sick volume( which I def want to do).5. Buy a sweet ass house and have tourney pros live with me.

Woow, those are some big goals. Lots of GL on those, you'll probably need it, but i believe anything can be accomplished if you work hard enough.Haven't thought of this myself, but it's interesting to think about. I think i might give this a thought later during the weekend. For now i only have one goal:Going to bed within the next 10 minutes :)Gn all!

2008 goals - In poker, I want to become a winning player at mid-limit Stud, Stud8, and Razz.Outside of poker, I'm going to try finish my dissertation and earn my Ph.D, and will hopefully publish 3 more articles between now and December 31, 2008.Personally, I need to make more time for my friends (a couple of them specifically) in 2008. So I'm going to plan a trip to Hilton Head with one and...well something fun with the other.

1.) PLAY LESS HANDS PER ORBIT IN HORSE CASH GAMES.2.) Take my roll and start playing more $4.40s to see if I can hack it against the donkey nation.3.) Post more less.4.) Be better luck on the rail.5.) Find a less interesting but more financially stable day job with full benefits.6.) Read up as much as possible on Stud Hi and LHE to pick up nuances I feel I'm lacking as I move up in limits.7.) See if I can take $400 to $1000 like I took $40 to $400 (read: slow, steady, consistent).8.) Win a sunday major and get my own well, because it would a superthread like this board has never seen. There may even be questions poker related. ;)Good luck to everyone in making their 2008 goals come true. And everyone should resolve to stop playing connectors OOP in opened pots, we're better than that.

I hate this last piece of advice. Playing connectors OOP is fun. Then again, it doesn't cost as much in LHE to take them to the flop.As far as Stud - post hands and AIM me.

i haven't given this much thought. My one goal for 2008 is to make it back to vegas for my wedding anniversary....we got married there and it's our 5 year so i'd like that. other than that, i'd like to build a decent sized roll this year and not go broke playing way over my head.

It's not as easy as it sounds.
It's as easy as you make it. Seriously bro if you want to lose weight you have to be committed just like you are in poker. I know it's hard when you loaft around the comp (and I'm not talking down on you because I'm the same way),but anything is possible if you want it bad enough. Fat camp won't make you lose weight in the long run, neither will liposuction or any of those quick fixes. It's all about your commitment and your drive to lose it.*cue eye of the tiger music*
