Lebron hurt his leg tonight i believe but he still did thisNEW YORK -- LeBron James couldn't catch Kobe Bryant, so he settled for matching Michael Jordan.James scored a season-high 52 points in his 21st career triple-double, joined Jordan as the only players with multiple 50-point games at the present Madison Square Garden, and led Cleveland to a 107-102 victory over New York on Wednesday night. Two nights after Bryant set a record at the present building with 61 points, James was on pace to break it after scoring 20 in the first quarter. He added 11 assists and 10 rebounds, becoming the first player since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to have a triple-double in a 50-point game. James grabbed his final rebound with under 2 seconds left, then tumbled out of bounds as time expired. Not bad for a guy with serious defects in his game -
ya, that's pretty sick...I can't think of a time I've seen somebody get a triple-double while scoring 50 pointsrepeat finals vs. Boston will be good but the hype machine is going to go overtime when the Lakeshow goes to Cleveland. We'll see if Lebron takes Kobe on defense and if the defense critics can be proven wrong.

You didn't finish college, what's he supposed to think?

I remember Jalen Rose talking about taking money once. Like, people become outraged and act like it's a bunch of greedy assholes ruining the integrity of the game, but even if you have a problem with

LBJ > MJ

I read that the only other player to score fifty and have a triple double was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.However, there was a story on yahoo today that one of Lebron's 10 rebounds was bogus and should have been credited to Ben Wallace instead.http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont...?urn=nba,139191

Once a year Kobe Bryant comes to Toronto. This time, he was here on the same night that LeBron James -- Kobe's sole competition for the title of the league's signature player -- was playing Madison Square Garden with his Cleveland Cavaliers, trying to follow Kobe's 61-point performance there on Monday night. LeBron had already said he would not try to top that number, which seemed smart.(Of course, half an hour after Kobe scored 14 firstquarter points in Toronto, LeBron scored 20 points firstquarter points in New York.)It's not a direct competition, but there is a duel between the league's current and future MVP, a proxy war carried out across North America. (Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul are part of the elite quartet, but are relatively overlooked.)Their teams could plausibly meet in the NBA Finals. While James is in full bloom at 24, Kobe remains great at 30. Some players believe that despite LeBron's earth-shaking impact, he is still second best. For now."To me, Kobe's the better basketball player," says Toronto Raptor Joey Graham, who played LeBron in Cleveland on Tuesday night, where James scored 33, and guarded Kobe last night. "We kind of almost know what we're going to do against LeBron -- we're going to throw bodies at him, make him try to shoot jumpers. But Kobe, you can't leave him open. And if you throw bodies at him, he's going to get fouled."Kobe has the whole package. He has all the tools. All you can do is try to do your best against him."The trick is that the Los Angeles Lakers star always tries his best, too, which tends to trump most everybody else. Raptors coach Jay Triano got to see Kobe close up last summer while working for USA Basketball, and came away stunned."I thought in working with Steve Nash that I'd seen one of the hardest workers in the game as far as the number of repetition of shots," says Triano. "And then when I saw Kobe in the summertime... "Kobe has three rings, but he and LeBron have won the same number of titles -- and lost the same number of NBA Finals -- without Shaquille O'Neal. LeBron just surpassed Kobe as the youngest player to score 12,000 points, by well over a year (of which Kobe says, "I don't give a rat's ***"). LeBron seems like a lock for MVP. Some say LeBron has become the league's best player."No," says Graham flatly. "Not trying to take anything from LeBron, but we were talking about this the other day: [Kobe's] got the same blood Michael Jordan's got. He's breathing the same oxygen. I mean, one day, LeBron, maybe. But right now, he's not on the same level."

No clue what is going on with this thread.I just want to add that after watching last night's game, Kobe has definitely not lost a step or any of his explosiveness. He's still a douche to all of his teammates, though.

They claim that they review every game - but I'm not so sureAs to the play - I think it was pretty clear that Wallace meant to tip it over to Lebron and get the offense started - now if someone had intercepted that tip over to Lebron - i'm pretty sure they wouldn't have counted it as a rebound and a stealI'm not really sure what even officially qualifies as a rebound - is catching an airball a rebound, a steal or nothing?

Catching an airball is a rebound.

lebron's game tonight against the Bucks was pretty magical. 14 pts in two minutes? 8-11 from downtown? 4-5 from three feet or more beyond the three point line?awesome.

"You have a hand in his face and he's shooting the ball two steps behind the 3-point line," Bogans said. "I mean, what can you do about that?"
enjoy the show, Bogans. The rest of us did.

The clincher, furthermore, would appear to be LeBron's D, which stands out more and more as the season plays out. On top of the 28.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.0 assists he's averaging, one highly respected Eastern Conference scout told me that LBJ "isn't far away from Howard for Defensive Player of the Year in my book."

He spends to much time watching sportscenter and not games then apparently. Give Cappy that guys job because he should be fired.

He's been shutting people down 1 on 1 all year especially in the 4th quarterHe has one of those sportcenter lay up blocked from behind basically every single game - that's 2 points
