ajs510 122
I mean, the injuries aren't helping but they're a very convenient excuse really. The Sabres organization is so deep that in spite of the injuries they're fielding better players than half the league has on any given night, but they're losing to teams that are supposed to be in the basement of the league and barely competing in the process. They really need one of these in the locker room:
serge 904
The more I watch Pegula and the more i listen to him, the more he sounds like a great fan and an owner of a fantasy team...Part of me loves an owner like this as its fun, but not sure if fun gets the job done.Im really not sure if Shero or Mario Lemieux would make those comments, as their team has been decimated with injuries arguably more than the Sabres. serge 904
I like to personally apologize to the fans of the Sabres..I personally jinxed Ryan Miller my picking him in 3 separate pools..One being a keeper.Sorry.

ajs510 122
So tonight must be highly anticipated for you Adam, what are your plans for the game tonight? AND, who will you be rooting for?Yeah, my buddy the Hawks fan and I got a bunch of people together to go drinking for the game. He ended up a lot happier with the outcome than I did, but I was happy to see Andrew Shaw continue his utter domination of the NHL. We were having a good time with FCHL-style degeneracy, betting penalties, broken sticks, big hits, next goal, it was a good time.

serge 904
So the Buffalo Sabres are last place in the East. If you asked a 100 people to pick the team that would finish last in the East I doubt any of them would say Buffalo. This is actually a good opportunity for the Sabres, who arguably on paper have to talent to compete but are just having a bizarro year with injuries and people having brutal years. Much like the Flyers who finished near the bottom a few years ago, they can become instant contenders by drafting a lottery player and could go from a lottery team to a Cup contender in a very short time.Or they can trade that pick for instant help right away.. digitalmonkey 929
I think it's been somewhat of a perfect storm for Buffalo...injuries, Leino sucking, Miller not being Miller, injuries, etc...

We will see what they do deadline time.
pauld22 0
So the Buffalo Sabres are last place in the East. Much like the Flyers who finished near the bottom a few years ago, they can become instant contenders by drafting a lottery player and could go from a lottery team to a Cup contender in a very short time.Or they can trade that pick for instant help right away..In the beginning of the season, when they were winning games in spite of themselves, I kept saying, "Wait until these guys figure out how to play with each other." Then all of the injuries started piling up (I know, all teams go through injuries but 9 {I think} at one point is ridiculous), Miller turned into a sieve, Vanek and Pominville were the only players doing anything offensively, Myers became a pylon, etc etc etc...Now I'm on the same page as serge here. They also need to drop some dead weight before next season (before trade deadline?). Roy, Hecht, Gaustad, Kaleta, Boyes need to find somewhere else to play. If it were only that easy...Oh, and they just beat NJ after getting two huge injuries back (Ehrhoff and Regehr). Crank up the excuse machine again Mrs Black and Pegula. I know that sounds like I'm contradicting myself from above. The injuries played a role but they were no great shakes before they happened either.

pauld22 0
what a brutal season for the Sabres. Your coach breaks three ribs in practice?Thats terrible. He missed practice Tuesday and might not be behind the bench for Wednesday's game. Kinda hard to bark out instructions with broken ribs I guess. If he can't James Patrick will take his place until he can get back.I would guess he would be upstairs watching and possibly head down to the locker room between periods? Sound right?Vanek is still out too. These tickets sounded great when I bought them at the beginning of the year.
