I Was At A Game That Was Raided

Recommended Posts

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/suffolk/...0,2834219.storyI hate playing on the net so I have been playing live.We got raided the other night. The players were just told to leave, but the managers got arrested.I didn't have a lot of chips on the table because I suck at poker, but I don't think anyone is going to be getting their money back.

**** that shit, "losing money" when you get raided. Shitty game managers (or, it must've been a wide open to the public game where even the slightest degree of good faith couldn't be extended)Most all higher stakes games I know of put everyone on the pad for their initial buy, and then they settle at the end of the night (or whenever you go to cash out). That way, if the game gets hit, the money isn't in one central location, or if the game gets raided by the mustaches, no one loses their bread (unless your state allows the cops to seize the money you have in your pocket)

"Illegal gambling historically attracts loan sharks and criminals looking to rip off cash-carrying players, Spota said."So how about getting rid of "illegal" gambling by having LEGAL poker rooms that are regulated and have the necessary security to protect the players fromthese "loan sharks and criminals looking to rip off cash-carrying players"??If these rooms were legal you could have an obvious police/security guard presense, security camera's, outside lighting etc... and this wouldn't be an issue.God I hate it when government feels the need to protect us from ourselves.

Here I go again......recently 4 people were gunned down at a Crack House here in Detroit. Clearly it should be legalized so there could be an obvious police presence.

Are you seriously on a poker forum suggesting that poker should be illegal? Like, comparing poker to crack is just beyond retarded... you and I may have had our disagreements in the past over this or that, but just so I'm clear here- before I start in- is that what you're saying?I don't think anyone is suggesting that poker rooms be subsidized by the government, or anything like that. Most people believe that poker is an OK thing for grown-ups to do if that's where their bliss lies and if private industry were able to create safe, legal environments for people to play it in, this sort of thing wouldn't happen.Am I to understand that you're "against this" ?That you believe poker should indeed be illegal?
