Hitting The Tables In The Detroit (windsor) Area

Recommended Posts

Planning on hitting the tables tomorrow night.Likely going to hit MCC. Casino Windsor is a possibility, but don't really feel like dealing with the Border and FX.MGM Grand is a great Property with a lousy Poker roomGreekTown is Fishy, but it just wears on me.Anyone else going to be out in Detroit/Windsor friday?

Anyone have a concise list of all the rooms in the Detroit/Windsor area, like what the rake/fees per hour are, how many tables per room, etc?
Whatever the answer is to this question it is not worth coming from AZ to play.I have been too Greektown, MotorCity, and Casino Windsor. I only play at CW now. I hate Greektown, MotorCity is a dive and their poker room managers have always been uptight pricks. CW has a nice clean room, great managers, and the players are all civilized human beings. I only play 3/6 and off hand I can't remember the rake.

what? You say otherwise? I have had some seriously scary situations at Greektown and Motorcity. I have had nothing but pleasant hours at the tables in Windsor. I never once had to duck.

I have played with some total DBs at Windsor - granted never "scary" but I've never been scared @ GT either......except for the time a couple of guys followed me from the Poker Room and were going to roll me in the Parking Structure but I lost them on the way there and saw them looking for me on the street as I drove away......Ummm.......ok, I see your point.I was going to post about a couple of players at CW, but I am sort of funny about doing that on an Internet Forum. If we ever meet up at the tables perhaps I'll share my thoughts on specific individuals.

I have never had a problem at GT MC CW or MGM and I am around all the time... I have never had anything even close to a prob actually. I really find it hard to believe. Sucks if its true.

I was there for the Ryder Cup a few years back and we went down to watch the Lions lose, and then hit Trapper's alley or whatever. If was atrocious and they charged like $12 a half hour, or some crap. I obv. don't remember exactly but it was bad. Then, on the way back to the car two guys came running past us at full speed and shoved a guy 25 feet or so ahead into a fire hydrant! The guy just crumbled and we ran to our car.Gotta love Detroit. Nice job Kwamie!

3/6 is nothing for rake....but you've obviously never seen me play there. i'm usually somewhat civilized, i guess, but i like to have alot of fun at the table and in doing so have probably offended a handful of people.
FYP(Non-Detroiters will not get it)
i got it

Windsor doesn't have the session fees anymore for the 100 max, just the higher buy-in NL tables. so it's not so bad anymore. I refused to play when they had the session fees for the 1/2NL, it seemed like a waste of $24 an hour.

Thanks. I do go visit family and friends every now and then and I would like to play the next time I go back.I was hoping that Detroit would finally get their turds-herded and crank out a top notch, overly secure facility to play at. Is it so hard? Looks like I'll head over to Windsor the next time I am there....

Next time you're planning, I WILL set up a CW night for FCPers. Maybe if you're there, they'll actually show up this time.

The Detroit Casinos have also dropped the Session Fees and gone to a 10% rake up to $6 max for the $1/$2 NL games
