How do you feel about so many people getting tattoos of you?Do you think they are trying to suck up? Be tough? What's your take on it?

I remember watching the Oprah Winfrey show a few years ago when Tiger Woods was on, and I remember feeling such a bond with him then, because he feels the same way about the fame: both flattered and slightly uncomfortable with it. You go to work, you do your job, and people act like it's some amazing act. Everyone has their thing that they are good at. For some, it may be accounting; for some, it's medicine; others are good at sports. For me it just happens to be harvesting the souls of those whose time on Earth has come to an end. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me, but I guess other people are impressed.I think the tattoos (or "tats" as the kids call them these days :club: ) are a bit silly. I assume people know there is no sucking up, and if they knew how much boring paperwork and meetings there are in this job, they would see that the idea of it making them look "tough" is somewhat laughable.

:club::D:D So, this paperwork... does it have snazzy numbers like "Form 666" or is there some other complex filing system?

I think you are confusing "death" with "Satan", lol.Ever since that rash of lawsuits in the 80's, every Certificate of Impending Death (COID) has to be signed off by three separate departments, and we all know how efficient Human Resources is at upholding their part of it...sheesh. Then the next day we have to go over the reports for the previous day and initial those. Once a week we have our "Controversial Cases" meeting where we formulate our "official" response to the usual "I'm too young, it must be a mistake" and other complaints. Those are mostly form letters now, but every once in a while we feel someone deserves an individual response. Then monthly, we go over the final stats from the previous month to make sure everything is still on track. It's a little bit silly, everything is so automated now, with lists being handled electronically, and DNA databases, it's not like any of this accomplishes much anymore. But management is sort of old school, and change comes slowly.

Well, I wanted to test the "death is evil" thought process. Personally, I know the difference, but there is a large, uneducated part of the population who actually think you get some sick pleasure out of it.Hmmm, that brings up another interesting question. Are there some people who it brightens your day when their COID crosses your desk?

Mr. Reaper, pardon me but I am going to speak on your behalf. If anyone really wants to know the inner workings of the office of death, please refer to this Death Reference Guide.180px-On_A_Pale_Horse_cover_by_Piers_Anthony.jpg

Took me like 6 years to read the series, because I got halfway through the Chronos book and got bored, put it down for about 4 years, then my wife grabbed them and we finally finished the series last year. Great books, totally unique way of looking at the "7" major incarnations
