LJB723 0
I had never seen these types of tournament before. Mainly because I've been running horribly so I've been playing micro-limit sngs. I would like to hear FCPer's opinions if it would be profitable to play this type of tournament. Here's the set-up10 man sng.£5+.501-5 gets paid £10Now the site I play at offers £5.50 sng payouts as:1st - £252nd - £153rd - £10The blind structure is the same for both - goes up every 10 hands 7/15, 15/30, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400, 300/600, 500/1000. The regular sng starts with 1000 chips. The "double your money" 1500.So... money making scheme or easy money?
jmbreslin 0
Easy money, it's basically the structure of a satellite tourney (flat payout) but with a cash prize rather than a seat in a tourney. Given how easy it is to make it to the top 5 in a 10-man SnG, I'd play these all day every day (if I didn't have a full-time job). I'd probably throw in some regular ones for the thrill of trying to win, but this seems like a really easy way to build a bankroll.
LJB723 0
Thanks jmbreslin. I played one and flopped AAQ with pocket Qs and got a shove from A5. Doubled up early on and just sat out and read hand histories on this 'til the bubble burst. I think it was the fact that it seems soooooo easy had me worried, there must be a catch! But I wouldn't be a poker player if I trusted everything I heard would I?
Cappy37 0
It sounds like a slow process, but any tourney paying 50% of it's participants an 82% ROI is basically printing money.
jmbreslin 0
It would definitely get boring, but if Stars had this kind of SnG my roll would probably be twice as large as it is now...
Wingman008 0
I would still find some way to lose.

LJB723 0
It's on William-Hill. A UK based bookmaker, not sure if it's a brief promotion deal or if they'll keep it going.Apologies to the US based among you - don't think you can join the site. Europe is OK. Canada - dunno. LJB723 0
Lol, how high do these go?Is there much traffic on WH?The double your money is available at £5+.50, £10+1 and £20+2. There are also "triple your money" tables which offer 3x buy-in to 1-3 and buy-in back to 4th (you'll finish -£2 for the game).WH isn't the busiest site ever but the sngs are frequent and fill up quickly especially the <£5 tables. MTT average around 200 entrants for £2+.25 tournaments and the head-hunter tournaments seem quite popular too.Perhaps these offers are to entice more people to play there? koepsy 0
I think I would rather just play a heads up match and get it done with. It would get really old playing down to top 5 in a 10 man sng. You would also have to dodge more bad plays then a heads up match.
