I think it's awesome that... No wait, I actually wanted to make a point here. The claim "see, it was a good fold since I would have lost" is of course nonsense, as many of you have pointed out. However, some then go on making the reverse error, they say "actually, it was a bad fold here since your opponents had AK and 55 and you had a +EV". Of course, that is just as results oriented: a next time, your opponents may show down AA and KK or two complete bluffs. Even after showdown, you should not think of a fold as good or bad in terms of the hands you see, but in terms of all hands that could have been in their range. On the positive side: the fact that you now have seen two hands that they make this play with gives you a bit of information that might allow you to estimate this range better.Which I think is awesome.

I think it's awesome that we have some very high quality strategy forums for discussing and analysing hands that people have played.I think it's even more awesome that this wasn't posted in one of those forums.

Dude, you need to be more results oriented. This was obv a mistake, as you would have won the hand had you called. It's ok though, you'll learn.
A pair of Jacks now beats a pair of Kings? This thread is... eh, never mind. It's standard :club:

I think it's awesome that a lot of people who would advocate getting it all in there 3 ways in the strat forums are also the one littering the bad beat forum with scenarios where the math is right, and they are still 0 fer the month on MTT final table bubbles.

THANK YOU!!!!!EDIT: The only way I know how to play JJ is to Shove AIPF. I have just as good of a chance to have the best hand as seeing an over card and pussing out of a big pot. You have to have balls! Wow now I know why I am broke. :club:

This is why I qualified my post by saying that if he based his belief that it was a solid fold on the hand ranges of his opponents then fine, but if he is saying it is a good fold because one of them had slick and hit (which i think he was actually doing), then he is very very wrong.

Man I'm such a goot player that I can fold KK to a min raise preflop. I'm soooooo goot that I can shove someone off AA preflop with my death stare. Not to mention that my favorite hand is 7d2c cause I can make two different straights and two different flushes.

yeah i was getting less then 2-1 on my money and at best i was probably a 55-45 favorite..................yeah calling here was the best play?? are you kidding me. I was gettin less then the correct odds to call here. If i had say 3-4 times the amount of chips that i had, I would probably call about 80% of the time, yeah that's right 80%. Not 79% not 81%, 80%.
"Excellent laydown."

Phil Hellmuth lay down, well done.
Thanks for all the possitive feed back. Yeah in no way do i claim to be anywhere close to the type of player that phil hellmuth is. But he would fold in that spot a high percentage of the time. Also for the record, some players would play AA in the situation at this limit just the same as they would play AK. did i know what exactly he had? no but i knew i didn't wanna gamble in that spot with probably no better then a 55% chance of winning. So yes i was happy that i saw he would have out flopped me, cause it made my fold all the much sweeter, but i did not base my opinion that it was a good fold because he outflopped me. I used what i felt was good judgement and a well timed decision. So before i get needled about this post, i'm not a professional, and don't claim to be. just played the hand the way i saw it. Wrong or right.
