When DFW died, Chorozzo made a disrespectful comment, and I slowly willed him into the grave over it. I didn't love Prince less than I loved DFW.

He's colder than that, now.

Sorry. I usually just blow by your posts without reading them.

I haven't bee keeping up. Are conservatives yet able to say that the government can't control how we die, or do they still insist that the government knows best when it comes to how we choose to leave this Earth?

I'd rather the government control how I die than when I die.**That was supposed to be a death panels joke.****I don't really know what death panels are, but I think I have a vague idea.******I haven't been keeping up either.

From what I can tell, this issue crosses party/ideological lines, although you are probably correct that conservatives lean more toward involving the govt in this decision. I don't think it's a strong correlation though.

Poor Dr. Jack. I liked him. I live in the same town he does, my wife works at the hospital where he died. He was pretty cool. He used to eat at the Coney at the corner. Him and all his friends would be there almost every night at the same table for years. I haven't seen him around much the last year or so. I actually thought he had died a while back. Oops.

So, this one kinda bothers me. Here in Chicago, we have "MeTV", which shows old TV shows, with a huge run of westerns during the afternoon. I love them all. Save for Clint Eastwood and Rawhide, most of the major stars are now dead. I always kind of viewed a living James Arness as a sentimental anchor to a time when men wore hats, people watched westerns and the Wakefields of the world were either force fed heavy psychotropics to quell their homosexuality, or stuffed in a state run institution somewhere to be forgotten about, as the family formed a pact to 'just move on, and never talk about him again...'.

It's hard to be offended when he reminds me of the 80-year-old smack addict who I used to live upstairs from, and who was in no way a cool 80-year-old addict. He liked his afternoon westerns, and his heroin, and that was about it.

... and as someone who is that mans soul brother, I can guarantee he didn't like you either.

No, he probably didn't.Although I'm not sure he knew who I was most of the time. He spent a lot of his day nodded out on the front steps, and the only reason I know he liked his westerns is cuz I got locked out one time and he let me in to his apartment to use the phone. His female friend (white, mid-50s, cornrows), was making hamburgers on the stove and she was sneaking bites of the raw uncooked ground beef. Your soul brother told her that was disgusting, so at least he wasn't as bad as her.

Definitely made for some interesting discussions.

Yeah, but I'll never forgive him for unleashing Feiger on the World.

I was just about to post the same pic you did...yeah, you think speed might have been a factor after looking at that twisted burned out hulk?Like I said, I liked him because he was a funny dude but acting like a retard in a high-performance sports car when you're wasted isn't cool at all...obviously I shouldn't be just assuming he was behind the wheel but they all kinda had that invincibility gene in their heads.
