Who Died Today?

Perhaps he stopped eating because of the dementia. Died from complications of dementia would be less eye-raising than listing starvation as the cause of death.

He's colder than that, now.

When DFW died, Chorozzo made a disrespectful comment, and I slowly willed him into the grave over it. I didn't love Prince less than I loved DFW.

jesus would somebody fucking just die already so we can get a break in the music snobbery here?

Although the people who raise money and fight for starvation awareness would have appreciated the mention.

Also a depressing state: Dead.Another depressing state: Iowa.I find it odd that you draw this distinction for dementia.Edit: Apparently Iowa is, like, the 4th least depressed state. I just put it in there because of brv. Utah is the most depressed state.2nd Edit: Not saying brv is depressed, just that he notices when his state is mentioned. If it was the former, I would've said Kansas.3rd Edit: Good talk.
I was about to say "Hey!!", but then I saw your edits. I'm watching you, SJ, you sticky bastard.EDIT: Skeletons are dry old bones, but jelly is sticky. I'm not sure which one you are, but I went with sticky. I trust that that was the correct choice.EDIT 2: The only thing I do know for sure, is that you're a bastard. EDIT 3: I just don't know what type.

That wasn't tim's concern.Though I guess that's true...the only true deadly complication of dimentia would be, you know, walking out a window because you think it's a door, or whatever.
Would you say that though? Wouldn't starvation be a complication of the alzheimer's (or whatever)? You wouldn't say someone who died from a bad cold died from complications from sneezing, you'd say they died from oversneezing, or died from complications of a cold.

My father died of complications from dementia. That a lot nicer than saying that he died of a massive bowel infection because he couldn't remember to take a good dump.

Really my point was that saying "natural causes" sounds nicer than saying "dementia," and I don't know why the public needs to know the gory details. But Digitalmonkey made a strong point about dementia researchers appreciating the shout-out.

So then tim's concerns are well-founded, since it would be odd to say someone died "of complications from" a symptom, as opposed to a disease.

It's possible that he had dementia resulting from an unknown or nonspecific cause. If he died because of some consequence of the condition of dementia I don't see what's wrong with saying that.

I'm sorry for your loss. The other types of complications I've seen, are people not remembering they are hungry, and failing to get proper nutrition. Even with constant care, if the person can't communicate there is a pain in their jaw, a cavity can turn into an absessed tooth really fast. But it's tons and tons of stuff like that.

That was just one example...yes, the starvation thing would count.

I'd like beat a dead horse and make one more point: Think of how many natural causes there are...it's not like we'd say that about cancer, heart attack, or whatever. I think it's good to try and take some of the stigma away from dimentia by getting it out there.

Tony Parker allegedly had been sending hundreds of text messages to one of his teammates' wives.I hope this ends with Parker getting traded to Orlando. Milwaukee.
