Party still runs at 300k sunday "major" $215 buy in tourney.. very soft play. My uncle got 2nd this past week for $33.6k.....was pretty sick, coached him to it as he's a fairly unintelligent in tourney poker but was awesome regardless. Took a few suck outs, but that is always the case. Sucking out a royal flush on the river to a turned boat FTW! :club: :)Only putting $1k in my pocket for my hard work and good coaching skillz..FTL :D :D

I'm sorry to say that Party Poker won't be allowing Americans unless the US Government drops their opposition to online gaming. At the moment there are much better places to play than Party. The action is not that great. For non-Americans the action at a few other Networks is better than Party in my opinion.

i never played on bodog either... i remember PP having 48934893489 playing at one time. what majors did they have?
They had a nightly same as PStars and then Sunday Major. That was before all the sites starting adding multiple big buyins on Sundays or during the week. The rebuys were the coolest thing. As long as all your chips were in the pot DURING the hand you could rebuy. So you would shove and immediately scramble for the rebuy button. You could win the pot and the rebuy still went through.

Doyle's Room is on the Prima/Microgaming Network and that Network has allowed Americans from most States other than the ones with specific State laws against online gaming all along. It was curious that Doyle's Room moved to that Network when they dropped their American players rather than go with most of the Network that they were on to the ipoker network which is much larger than Prima/Microgaming and doesn't allow Americans.Prima/Microgaming has been losing market share and lost one of their largest skins bet.365 a few weeks ago when it moved to Ipoker.
On the Doyle's Room website it says that it is powered by the DBPN (Doyle Brunson Poker Network). Is that the same thing and they just call it something different?

They've always called themselves that even when they were on their previous Network. Some other sites used the DBPN for their backend functions etc and Doyle's Room and the rest of the DBPN were part of the larger network. The current larger network is Prima/Microgaming.

Okay, well Party can't because it is publicly traded.
Why does that mean they can't decide to operate in the US?

I think probably my highest ROI of any tourney I have ever played is the Party 33 rebuy that I believe was at 9PM pacific time.

Once again, Bob is spot on. In my opinion if Party Poker was going to re-enter the US market their stock would experience some sort of spike. It's been in the crapper for a long, long time. Currently it's trading at around 27. (Stock symbol: Prty.l) You'd see a spike involume as insiders would be lining up to make an easy, quick profit.

Because publicly traded companies from England tend to not want to "circumvent" US laws and put its shareholders and executives in sticky situations.

I've brought this up before, but you used to always win on Party. That is all.

It's not just that with Party. They have taken the position recently that if a Government opposes online gaming then they don't allow players from there. They stopped allowing Turkish players and I think they might also not allow players from France.
