AlTrade 0
I've been reading this forum for a few months now and became a member about a month ago. I really enjoy reading everything you guys poste, it's been real helpful.I wanted to tell you about a hand that happened to me tonight.I was playing 3-6 Limit at Empire Poker, I was small blind with A7 off suite. I stayed in for the minimum $3.00 bet with two others. the flop came A A A. I couldn't believe it. First to act I checked the next guy checked and the next Bet $3.00. I called and the second guy folded. The turn was a J and I checked again. The other guy bet, I raised, he reraised and so on we maxed out the rasies on the turn and the river and I won $87.00.He had a J making a full house.QUAD A's my first time, Very Cool!!! Socrates 0
And actually, it's only 4 of a kind. Quads is when you have AA in your hand. See set v. three of a kind for further review. You got very lucky, wow. PLease keep playing A7 oop and come to my table.

PLease keep playing A7 oop and come to my table.you're an idiot... quads and four of a kind are the same thing... don't let anyone tell you different. quads is just a nickname for four of a kind...... along with the words set, trips, and three of a kind... they're all the same thing regardless of whether or not two of them are in your hand... you see all these phrases came about BEFORE Hold 'Em came about... so that wouldn't make any sense... Swift_Psycho 1
PLease keep playing A7 oop and come to my table. Is there some fukcing disease going around that makes everyone feel the need to say that to insult someone just because that person made a questionable play? Acesgotcracked 0
I love how all these people, most of whom have never played above 4-8 limit if that think there qualified to critique everyones play. THE DUDE WAS IN THE SB IN A UNRAISED POT WITH NUMEROUS LIMPERS IN FRONT OF HIM. I'll call from the SB with worse hands then A-7 off and look for a magic flop. I love how when someone like Gus Hansen or Tuan Lee make questionable calls its good play, but when anyone else does it there an idiot. You guys need to get over the whole pro poker player bit, just because the dude is on TV does not mean that hes the greatest player ever or that he is three times as good as someone who is not on TV. I play for a supplemental income in Dallas clubs and know of a female player who is on TV all the time from here who before getting some guy with a wandering eye to back her was never even thought of as more than an average player. Then she gets lucky hitting about 12 one outers and shes supposedly one of the great female players in the world. BS. Why not call the BB of 3$ from the SB(you already have money in there)in a multiway pot? Are you scared that if a single ace flops you wont be able to fold top pair? Do you have no confidence to play this hand on the flop? Thats all gus hansen does, he plays everything pre-flop, looks to flop a big hand and if he doesent he folds and forgets about. With A-7 off, if the flop comes A-J-4, you play cautiously and fold when money starts to fly into the pot. Whats so hard about that? To much respect for so-called pros here, this aint chess, you cant get that good at this game.
kevinoc85 0
There was no problem with the play, you were in the small blind. You did hit QUAD aces, because quads and 4-of-a-kind are the same damn thing. Congratulations, and don't listen to the "professionals" who ragged on you. This forum is for fun, not making fun of the way people play.

AlTrade 0
thanks for all the comments, wow you guys sure get fired up!!!for the record, I don't play A7o normally but with limpers and only the BB left I will take a chance sometimes.

Acesgotcracked 0
Didn't mean to get fired up but i'm just sick of all these schmucks who play micro-limit on line poker and have the audacity to rip a guy for limping from the small blind. If most of the table limps in front of you, you have odds to call from the SB with almost any two cards.
Socrates 0
Wow everyone is uptight, has no one read the other posts on trips v. set & quads v. 4 of a kind? It was a fu%$ing joke. For the record I've been playing various games for about 14 years now, not since Hold 'Em hit high school.
afan002 0
sorry didn't know you were in sb. you're wording in the op was a little wierd. i play almost any ace from sb in unraised pots
Acesgotcracked 0
Wow, whatever man. I'm 21 and have been playing for about 6 and a half years(at first on line but since I turned 18 i've played exclusively live). It just seems as if your always looking to judge someone elses play(alot of people on this forum are), but if a so called pro did something similar it would be a brilliant play. Alot of armchair quarterbacks here. youd think these critics were making hundreds of thousands of dollars playing poker if they were as good as they act. good job with your quads, im glad you got paid off. ignore the negative posts in these kind of cases. if you are looking for advice on a hand though, there are some very smart players here who will help you out. its just a shame you have to sort through all the garbage to find them. mark33f 0
If there is one limper in a pot and you are in the small blind A 7o is a fine hand to limp with.
