I have a Land Rover thats transmission has something wrong with it and besides the dealership that wanted about 7k to fix it, nobody else would touch it. So this mechanic is one of those guys that build race cars has rebuilt numerous motors and transmissions, so he is willing to work on my vehicle at a pretty fair rate. So my wife follows me out to his property, that is where his shop is, to drop off my vehicle.As I am driving up the street looking for the address, its on a country road so eahc drive way is about a quarter mile between each other, I see a sign that looks like it say's ..... racing on it. As I get closer I notice the sign says Ryalnd Racing.....This is my mechanics last name.It saddens me to say because of this forum I almost turned around. One of the only vehicles I can think of that is not a depreciating asset.Unfortuantely it is a crappy freelander, I have a family now so I wanted a smaller SUV w/ good gas mileage that I could get for a good price. I priced out the acadia and when I put all the options on it, it was almost 40K.
