CobaltBlue 662
With my two teams (Braves and White Sox) out of the playoffs, I'm putting my allegiances up to a vote. You'll notice the absence of the Yankees. This is for good reason: it'll be a cold day in hell before I cheer for them. Please vote and state your case.
Solodell 0
I say Phillies...exciting young team. They have 3 of the best young players around in Rollins, Utley, and Howard. Plus, any team that can come back from a 7 game deficit in September, well, that's just amazing (albeit it took some help, but they played great).

XXEddie 0
Rockies, AINECHow can you not root for them as a neutral right now? They serged late winning 13 of 14 and forcing the 1 game playoff at home today(7pm EST) and this is a classic young teams lead by the veteran leader Todd Helton. I dont see hwy this team cant get to at least the NLCS if they win the game today
MDXS 0
I'm rooting Red Sox of course, but I voted Rockies. They're a good story, have some exciting players, and have to be considered the underdog (especially since they aren't even in yet).

InsanityCubed 0
Ugh, one game into their playoff coverage, and I already hate TBS. They don't show OBP on the pre-AB graphic.

MDXS 0
I hope everyone's watching this game. Hoffman just blew it in the 13th. Tie game. Holliday on 3rd, after tripling in the tying run (making up for his misplay earlier and clinching the batting title). No outs. And now they are intentionally walking Helton. Amazing stuff.EDIT: ...and it's over. Amazing show by the Rockies.

CobaltBlue 662
Wow...if I was a San Diego fan, I'd be on LFT. Taking out Thatcher (who was dominating) for Hoffman...huge mistake. Also, I think the Rockies going 14-1...how can I not cheer for that? S'gotta be one of the most incredible runs in MLB history. TB17 0
Vote Yankees.
CobaltBlue 662
Vote Yankees. How does a Blue Jays fan pull for the Yankees?Okay...let me elaborate a little on my biases...I like underdogs. I dislike teams that I view as Braves rivals...which mostly includes teams that have beaten them in the postseason...which is admittedly a lot of teams.I pulled for the Red Sox some in the past because I wanted them to beat the Yankees. That said, they've won recently...so it'd be nice if someone new could win. The Angels won not too long ago. We've already discussed the Yankees. The Indians...it's been a while...I'm somewhat lukewarm on them. Phillies....I have a difficult time pulling for them because they're divisional rivals, but I agree that their comeback was pretty amazing. The Cubs really need to get the monkey/goat off their back...though I'm still not thrilled about their fans mocking the Braves while beating them in the playoffs a few years ago. I'd kind of pulled for them before that. As for Arizona and Colorado, I have a tendency to pull for expansion teams, but Arizona won not too long ago.I think my top two teams are going to be:1) Colorado Rockies2) Chicago CubsIn the AL, I will be going for anyone playing the Yankees. XXEddie 0
it was a great game... Rockies caught a break with that last call..Congrats Rockies fans..I know im a Rockies fan but....You cant say that, i saw the replays, honestly you cant tell either way2nd, the ump had no veiw of that, he had to go with his gut, if the catcher doesnt drop the ball, Ump probably says Holliday is outbut you cant take that away from the Rockies, they won 13 or 14 to finish the season and capped it off with this tremedous game and an outstanding comebackCongrats Rockies, well deserved, I will be in the stand rooting you on for Game 4.....if we dont sweep, that is
TMoneyBags 0
don't be stupid. It's obvious that he didn't touch homeplate. Not to take anything away from their season. I just would have liked to have seen the 14th inning played (assuming they didn't hit Helton in).
aadams_22 3
don't be stupid. It's obvious that he didn't touch homeplate. Not to take anything away from their season. I just would have liked to have seen the 14th inning played (assuming they didn't hit Helton in).But you can argue that the Garret Atkins homerun/double would have won the game long before that play at the plate. The announcers were showing their intelligence (or lack thereof) saying that the ball hit the padding and just bounced off. First off it's PADDED which means it will absorb impact and not cause the ball to ricochet like a cannon back into the field. Second that padding is a relatively flat surface and simple physics teaches us that if an object hits a flat surface it will cause said object to react in an equal and opposite direction.Third there is a small unpadded pipe that runs length-ways along the outfield wall that the yellow padding is attached to. When the replay of that hit was slowed down it appears that the ball strikes that pipe which causes it to fire back into the field of play (think how a baseball reacts on a cylindrical bat). Considering that pipe is technically beyond the yellow padding the call should have been a home run.
showstopper24 0
I am cheering for the Indians, because they are my favorite team. I wasn't really into baseball in the mid 90's, which sucks because the Tribe was awesome during that time. I hate Jose Mesa.I really hope that this can put an end to Cleveland's second place streak (Ohio state football and basketball-they kind of count for Clevleand because most Clevelanders cheer for them, and the Cavs). Solodell 0
I know I said Phillies at first, but maybe after last night, the Rockies. Any team that wins 14/15 to get into the playoffs deserves some love.
TMoneyBags 0
totally agree with the Atkins HR. I was pissed at that point. I like justice, but tit-for-tat isn't really justification.
