Hevad Kahn Is A Freaking Moron

no. period.
How dare you question me. My opinion is always the absolute as far as what is correct is concerned. You probably weren't aware of this fact, so I'll let it slide this time. But don't do it again.

Let me put this into perspective.Poker became popular long before these two individuals (Hevad Kahn and Humberto Brenes) were acting the way that they did. This type of behaviour would never go on during a cash game in a casino. I personally don't play in home games, but I can only imagine what would happen to individuals who acted the way that they did in a private setting. The way that these people act reflects on poker players as a whole. The general public really knows very little about poker, except for what they see on TV. So when people act the way that these guys do, that is the perception that others will have of poker players. Worse yet, when they play poker, they will think it is ok to behave that way.Behaving like that is an excuse for one reason or another. It's a poor excuse. If that is the extent of your creativity, I find it quite sad. Acting that way is a cheap trick. People can do plenty of things to get TV attention in a tasteful way. Acting like a complete idiot does nothing for anyone.
dude, you aren't even Canadian...are you?

You know who else was a disgrace? Hitler. But you still see his mug on A&E every once in awhile. I don't know what point I'm trying to make. I guess none, now that I think about it. Just trying to up my post count and let my e-penis get a little bigger.

Here, I'll go one further......they aren't just bad for Poker, they are bad for society. This is an Internet bred acceptance of acting like an ass as a certain segment of our population loses their basic social interactive skills because of the "Online Anonymity" and loss of immediate feedback for in appropriate behavior (aka getting your ass kicked). He needs to be tasered.Stay offa my lawn.
That's spot on. The internet plays a huge role in this.

I am completely in the Kahn's an idiot court. With that said I'll share my experience from tonight.I took a ride to the abc store for some beer, and see the same dudes behind the counter that I always do. One is late 30s, the other late 50s or maybe 60ish. Now I see these guys about once or twice a week and they're chatty and friendly, but tonight I walk in wearing my fcp hat.I grab a six pack and go to the counter to pay and the younger guy says "You play poker?" I say "yeah". He says "that's really cool" or something like that and goes on to say how he's 'so hooked on poker...can't get enough of it'...so I'm intrigued. I ask if he means watching on tv or playing...he says 'both'. OK cool that's great. So as I start to ask him what games he plays, he goes right into "You know that bulldozer guy??? And the guy with the shark??? Do people really act like that when they're playing??" I say "no, not really...I think they're just doing it for the cameras" "Well", he says "they may be doing it for the cameras, but it sure is funny to watch!" As the old guy chimes in "Yeah, I love watching that...those guys are crazy"So they go on and on about those 2 for 5 minutes, and it's now 10, closing time, and these guys just wanna talk about these guys they saw playing poker on espn, giving Scotty Nguyen an honorable mention becuase he's fun to watch too. I've been standing there for 10 minutes and there seems to be no end in sight. My beer was getting warm, so I excused myself..and they unlocked the door and let me out.Apparently ESPN is on to something...

I had a similar experience. Couple of slight differences. I was going to buy a pack of cigarettes. The guys I met were in their 20's.One was skinny, the other was heavy. They called themselves Jay and Silent Bob.

Well for the 100th time for everyone who thinks Hevad does that crap for the cameras, he doesn't. He's like that everywhere. Whether you like him or not that's up to you. But take it from someone whos met him, he's absolutely nuts like that whether there's a camera, he's in his room, or with his friends.

And that all just makes him incredibly unlikeable, not a camera whore.

I think its much worse to be a camera whore and act completely different than to be yourself. Just me though.

If he acts like that normally, I think he's just an idiot with no self control. Most kindergarteners act more civil in public.
He's actually very civil. But people always need to find something to hate on, so I guess it doesn't matter what I say. But I know for a fact that he doesn't do it to be obnoxious, or to put people on tilt, he just does it because its fun. He doesn't say disrespectful things like "WHO HAS THE BEST HAND AS USUAL" or "this man can't even spell poker". And when I mean that's the way he acts, I don't mean that he goes crazy when he buys a drink or finds a song that he likes. When he's excited, he just lets it out. Is he nuts? Sure. Is he obnoxious? To some people. But he's not a bad person or disrespectful.

that is a really ridiculous thing to say. it's the equivalent of saying "like jordan, except talented" if you were a basketball player.
this is either a level, or an example of poor reading comprehension skills
i read it the same way ? as jc saying hellmuth has no skill ..? so as far as gmans post its pretty dead on

Yeah. I'm just looking for a reason to dislike him. You know me. You know me so well.

Hevad was at the table next to me one day. He was mild like 80% of the time. Maybe 90%. Like anything in poker, it's a 12-15 hour day and you can only win so many pots....or key pots. It wasn't as bad as it was showed, but it doesn't make those times any less annoying. I hate that kind of behavior and only can appreciate it in very huge key pots where the celebration is clearly in the heat of the moment. I may exhibit that kind of celebration and quickly realize that a player has gotten knocked out usually because of it and shake his hand, because that's my nature, and I treat this game with respect because I want respect. It's my nature. I can't fake being an ******* or obnoxious, so I don't. I am who I am. I can be a bit sarcastic and tongue in cheek and made several of these comments to "world champion robert varkoni" but he laughed along with them and I never crossed any lines. I also told him that he was a very nice guy, because....he was, as much as he creeped me out, he was very genuine when the cameras were on and off, and clearly just enjoys his nerdy existence (sorry....sorry).Poker brings out a lot of "interesting" people. Some of the more bizarre examples of disrespect and angle shooting came from a "professioal" Phil Laak whom was pleasant 90% of the time, but like many humans was disrespectful to the dealer several times during the 5k event, and his penchant for trying sneak peaks at hole cards as their going to the muck gets rather old real quick. Thing is, I think we have accept a certain amount of this, especially for the cameras, as it's "energy" in a rather dull/long day for the television audience. I won't use it to judge who these people are off the tables and in society, and I barely use it as a measuring stick to judge them on the tables. There's always a moment in every person's day, on or off the table, when their 'true' self comes out. I look for those moments to determine their character. After all, we all have weak moments and say things we regret.I told a guy during the WSOP in level 1 after calling down 3 bullets with 2nd pair for nearly half my stack that he couldn't bluff me, that this wasn't his home game. It was total ego/machismo/adrenaline talking. I regretted it. Truth is, I was damn proud of my read and my call and rubbed a little salt for this guy trying to bluff me with queen high. Then I realized, who the f*ck am I? I later apologized. Just last week at the freeroll, this complete d*uche tw*t was playing in the 200k freeroll who is a regular there who plays 2-5NL. He kept making comments at how slow I was playing (I wasn't) and how I hollywooded him when I had AA and ran into his AA and we chopped. I told the guy that I hadn't slowed down the game and that he could be a jerk, but don't lie and say I'm playing slow. I then asked the table if I was playing slow, and they all agreed and said I was not. But this guy kept mouthing. I called him a liar. The floor was called over. He kept making cute references like, "ok I won't lie anymore. You're a good looking guy. You're skinny." This coming from an old, bald, dirty, smelly (shower please?) degenerate ahole new yorker who likes to get under people's skin. A guy at the table said, "You gave him what he wanted, you got upset. That's his game."If being a jerk and disrespectful is someone's game and is "right", then I want to be wrong. That's just sad.My number one is and will continue to be, respect, as much as I can muster, and try to be a professional. As Steve Buscemi once said....."Am I the only one who's a f*cking professional????"
