Suited Connectors Hits Combo Draw

Recommended Posts

Reads: None. Villain sat down 1 orbit ago and only played one hand. On Everest Poker you see some details when you move the mouse over the name. There stood she was a 61 years old woman. But please ignore this for the hand, beause people often make jokes with this personal details. To the hand (Everest Poker does not have a convertable hand history):Stacks:Villain: $48.50Hero: $52.10Preflop 5 players:UTG folds, Hero in CO limps with :D:club:, Button folds, SB/Villain completes, BB checks.Pot: $1.50 (3 players)Flop: :D :D :8hVillain bets $0.50, BB folds, Hero?(Hero thinks he has Position, a combo draw, the bet was weak, so I raise.)Hero raises to $3, Villain calls $2.50Pot: $7.50 (2 players)Turn: :tdVillain checks, Hero?(Hero has no clue what to do. But he knows that if he doesn't bet, all the comments in the forum would be like "bet the turn...". I decide to fire 1 more bullet, because she showed weakness again. But what is your line if you don't improve on the river? do you fire a 3rd bullet if she checks again. do you abort mission?)Hero bets $5, Villain calls again. Damn!!!Pot: $17.50River: :tcNow villain bets smallish $2.75. I see it as a blocker bet and raise to $15. And she folds eventually. Please comment:1) Flop-Raise standard?2) Turn play. Do you fire again or do you take the free card.3) River line if you don't improve AND Let's say she would have checked. Because most villains will not be so stupid to actually say "Hey please just call. I have a medicore hand and if you raise I will fold.

the small bet on the flop indicates that he was drawing for a flush as well, or possibly even a straight...i always think min bets with 2 of the same suit on board indicates they are drawing...some good players will take this image and use it to make huge profit in some situations, so i believe the small bets, the signs of weakness, and the long time to fold on the river (trying to save face) indicates a definite flush draw.

Please comment:1) Flop-Raise standard?Yeah, I open for a raise. Sklansky & Miller like the limp. 2) Turn play. Do you fire again or do you take the free card.Keep firing, imho.3) River line if you don't improve AND Let's say she would have checked. Because most villains will not be so stupid to actually say "Hey please just call. I have a medicore hand and if you raise I will fold. This is tougher. What's a weak hand here that we want to fold? An 8 or J? Those hands have been calling the whole way on the theory that you're drawing. A counterfeited two pair? That's possible but it's only 9 combinations. Furthermore, two pair reraises on the flop often.I think I check behind on the river since I can beat no pair.
